Trustses Report
Introduction
The trustees present their report with the financial statements of Ihe charty fof the year
ended 31 March 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and
Reporting by Charities. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) {effective 1 January 2019).
Bethel Apostolic Church of Excellence was incorpofated as a charitable Incorporated
organisation on 23 February 2023.
This decision was driven primarily by the desire to take advantsge of the separate legal
personality and limited legal liability for Trustees.
Bethel Aposlolic Church of Ex￿llen￿ is an Independent Member of the Bethel United
Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) UK and Europe family of Churches, which pursues similar
aims and signposts local beneficiaries to our Servi￿$.
Alms and purposes
Bethel Apostolic Church of Excellen￿ has the responsibility of promoting the Oneness
Apostolic Faith, primarily but not exclusively within Ladywood, Bimiingham and the
surrounding area. evangelism, Outreach. soctal and community.
Bethel Apostolic chU￿h of Excellence worship servi￿$ are through scriptures, preaching,
teaching, wayer. singing and music.

Belhel Apostolic Church of Excellence is commrtted to ensuring thal as many people as
possible come to worship al the church and to become part of the community of Bimingham.

Achievements and Perforniances
Bethel Apostolic Church of EX￿llence {Ladywood} is an integral part of the ecclesiastical
District 1 of Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic UK and Europe, we organise
weekly services, both in the sanduary and online for the church members and the general
public.
The Church financial year begins 1Apnl to the end of March each year. The Church year
runs from one national convocation to the next.
Quarterly, Pastor meets Wtlh the pastoral team to di5CUSS the calendar. auxiliary
departments, projects, initiatives and challenges that arise. This is good practice and
needs to be encouraged to keep going on a regular basis wrth the inclusion of a strategic
service delivery plan.
Sunday Services
Sunday Morning is grounded with Christian Edu&Alion for both children and adults.
Infants, children. young people. new converts and adults gather in their delegated areas for
Sunday School. The worship services corrtinue to be vibrant, uplifting with vibranl songs,
testimonies and prayerful thanksgiving and petrtions.
Community members. family
members and friends have continued to be in attendance.
Midweek Evening Services
Wednesday and Friday evening services involve worship, prayers, Bible study,
interactive, discussions, various trainings and workshops. These services are also open
to the general public. We also carried out activities for the Youth and Young Adults auxiliary
{reading online and presenlalion nights), Women's Department (extemal speakers invited
on Fridays) and the Men's Ministry (online and Fridays) and Treasured Saints leading
prayer online (Tuesdays). There is abo ongoiThJ partiry'patth in Bethel UK National Prayer
Call.
These combined activities help to train members in leadership foles. public peaking and
building their confidence in their individual ministrEs.
Discipleship
Spiritual fomation and development occU￿ed on several plattorms..
Youth - Planned and execLrted their first residential retreat and welcomed guests from
regional churches and an intemational speaker who encouraged tttem for several days in
teaching. team building adivities, managing finance, and sports activities. Youth visited
othèr youth av$nt$ tog•thèr throughout England artd Wal•s. They also attended and
Gontributed to District youth events.
Women - invited health and wellbein9 StEakers to empower and encourage women in the
hurch and local community. Spiritual plant grOV￿ng ongoirvJ activty. Financial aid group
to support single mothers.

Foodbank service
We celebrated Christmas 2023 with a fellowship dinner (January 2024) and a private
photographer to welcome the New Year. We celebrated with all our church members,
community families and friends. For Easter. we joined with our Distnct 1 to celebrate Easter
wrth 'First Sayings of Jesus..
We honoured and celebrated the lrfe of the late Reverend Vema JOY￿ Wnter. Naming and
dedicated phase Iwo to her and naming it the Vema Joyce Room.
We celebrated 3 water Baptism., 3 Baby Blessings.. 1 Homegoing seThI￿s,. and a total of
11 people becoming members of the church. Indusive of 8 people. Apostolic believers
requested to join BACE.
Future Plans
The church leadership and Trustees plan to continue to promote spiritual growth through
education and workshops by involvement in the local community and beyond as set out in
the objectives.
We also plan to extend our summer sch¢x)I VBS with a mission director overseas in the
Caribbean to 8pon$or. support and fumish less fortunate children with educational supplies and
a Christian curriculum in Summer 2025.

Statement of Trustees responslbllltles
The Charities Act 2011 requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the
incoming resources and application of resources of the chanty for thal period. In preparing
these financial statements, the trustees are required lo..
Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently
Observe the methods and pnnciples of the Charities SORP 2005.,
Make jLbdgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent
State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, Subl￿t to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
Prepare the financial statemenls on the going con￿rn basis unless it is inappropriate
to do so.
The trustees are respJnsible for keeping sufficient accounting records that disclose
with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posrtion of the charty and enable
them lo ensure that the financial statements comply wrth the Charities Act 2011. They
are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charty and hen￿ for taking
reasonable steps for the prevention of fraud and other irregularrties.
structure, Governance And Management
The Church is govemed by an Approved Goveming Documenl. Members of the Churth are
accepted in accordance with the Constitution which requires them to be or to have been
publicly baplised on the profession of faith in Jesus Chnst and following a mode of baptism
as per Acts 2v38.
A trustee meeting takes place throughoul the year and has responsibility for the overall policy
of the church. In accordance wrth the Constitution, the trustees, who together wtth the Pastor,
Church Secretary and Treasurer, are responsible for the day to day running of the church's
work, and the financial and legal aspects of the chanty All trustees are encouraged lo take
an appropriate part In the spiritual and pradical tasks involved in the furtherance of the
charitable objective.
Relevant matters may be submitted to the General Congregational Church meeting by the
Trustees for guidance or may be raised by members in General Congregational Church
meeting for further consideration by Trustees.
Publlc Benefit
The trustees have considered the guidance produced by the Charty Commission on
the provision of publhG benefit and they Gonfim that public benefit has been provided
Providing regular public worship open to all
Providing sacred space for personal prayer and contemplation
Conduding pastoral work including visiting the sick and the bereaved
Teaching Christianity thfovgh semons and Bible studies.
Promoting the whole mission of the church through activtties for senior
itizens, parents and toddlers and other special needs groups

Total receipts on ordinary unrestricted funds were £54.546-2024{202&£49.4411 and are
detailed in the financial statements.
£50,2W20241202>£45,949) was spent to provKle the Christian ministy.
The net result for the year was a surplus of £4.2￿2024{202￿£3.492) and adding bank and
deposit balances brought forward at the beginning of the year. Ihe balances carried forward
at 31 March 2024 for unrestricted funds totalled £276,￿3 (2023-£271.707).
Reserves Pollcy
The Trustees review the policy on reserves and set targets at least once per annum with
reference lo the gU￿an￿ and terminology published by the Charity Commission. The policy
is also reviewed, when warranted by changes in risk assessmenl or business plans. The
review includes unrestricted and designated fvrbds arKI tangible fixed assets. Transfer to and
from funds are authorised by the Trustees acting as a whole.
Risk Management
The trustees have examined the major risks which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied
that systems are in place to mf(igate exposure to the major risks.

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2024 which are set out
on pages 10 to 16.
Re$￿etIve responsibilities of the Committee and the examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for Ihe preparation of accounts. The chanty's
trustees Consider that an audit is not required for this year section 144{2) of the charities
Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examinatson is needed.

Basis of indopendent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Dirertions given by the
Charity Commission.
An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented wilh those records. It also includes consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as
trustees Con￿rning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do nol provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to
whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view. and the report is limited lo those
matters set out in the statement telow.
