The trustees, who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the period ended 31 January 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) issued on 16 July 2014, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) and the Charities Act 2011.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing document

The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company, limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006.

Risk management

The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

The board of trustees actively reviews the major risks facing the charity on a regular basis and ensures that measures are put in place to safeguard the charity's funds and assets. The trustees also ensure that legal advice is sought when necessary on crucial issues concerning the ministry.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Objectives, activities and future plans

The board of trustees actively reviews the major risks facing the charity on a regular basis and ensures that measures are in place to safeguard the charity's funds and assets.

The trustees ensures that legal advice are given, when necessary, on crucial issues involving the charity.The trustees have a duty to identify and evaluate risk/s to the charity and to mitigate them, by putting proper controls in place and provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company, limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006.

We are a Christian Charitable Company limited by guarantee and bound by law to author yearly reports and projections.

As a Christian Organisation, we are committed to the effective spread of the Gospel of Christ in Southend on Sea, Essex, UK and Northern Ireland and the rest of the world. Our motto is ‘transforming lives equipping men’. Our mandate is summed up in 3’D’s- Discovery, Discipleship & Deployments.

We provide support through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, aid people to discover their purpose in life and in God; to disciple and mentor individuals and deploy them into areas of their spiritual gifts and skills.

We have in place leaders to coordinate the children's church and the Youth Church on Sundays. Numbers of children and young people attending have increased.

We are on track with Friday prayer meetings, praying to God on behalf of the church and standing in the gap for our land, families, country and national government; so that the will of God is done through us, by us and for us. We have put on hold night vigils of prayers and have put in its place daily online prayers from 6.00am -7.00am, including weekends.

We are evangelical in belief, and as such we hold in high esteem, an effective and sound teaching of the Holy Scriptures.

Charitable activities and future plans (continued)

We have continued an intensive believer's class on Sundays where new Christians and old are mentored and equipped in the basic knowledge of the Bible. At this meeting, there are questions and practical sessions where scriptures become alive, practical, and relevant to individual needs and to empower believers in confronting life challenges and demands.

Leadership programmes are in place to find potential leaders and give them opportunities to become effective and proficient departmental and House group fellowship leaders.

We continue to review the accessibility of the building and to meet our health and safety obligations.

We pray that the church will continue to grow in strength and in leaps and bounds this year and later years in Jesus' name.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

The trustees continue to work towards maintaining unrestricted funds at a level which equates approximately three months of unrestricted expenditure.

The largest financial commitment of the charity was the mortgage on Dominion Centre, which was fully repaid in the year.

Please refer to the annexed accounts for a review of the finances of the Charity.

Review of financial position

At the balance sheet date the charity had total funds of £117,679 (2024 £118,027), all of which were unrestricted. That total includes £2,291 (2024 £1,383) held in a bank account. All funds are unrestricted.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES'/DIRECTORS' RESPONSIBILITIES

The trustees (who are also the directors of Church On The Rock Dominion Centre for the purposes of company law) are responsible for preparing the Report of the Trustees and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to:

The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The trustees submit their report and financial statements for the period which comply with current statutory requirements and the governing documents of the charity.

The trustees are also responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charitable company's website. Legislation on the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions in Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees (who are also directors for the purposes of company law) are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to an audit under company law and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to:

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in t accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequentlyno opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statements below.

1 BASIS OF PREPARATION

1.1 Basis of accounting

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant notes to these accounts.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with

the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) issued on 16 July 2014; > the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102); and > the Charities Act 2011.

1.2 Going concern

There are no material uncertainties related to events or conditions that cast significant doubt on the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.

1.3 Change of accounting policy

The accounts present a true and fair view and no changes have been made to the accounting policies adopted as laid out here.

1.4 Changes to accounting estimates

No changes to accounting estimates have occurred in the reporting period (3.46 FRS102 SORP)

1.5 Material prior year errors

No material prior year errors have been identified in the reporting period (3.47 FRS102 SORP).

2 ACCOUNTING POLICIES

2.1 Reconciliation with previous generally accepted accounting practice

There were no changes in accounting policy which required adjustment to, or reconciliation of, previous figures.

2.2 Income

Recognition of income
In the case of performance related grants, income must only be recognised
to the extent that the charity has provided the specified goods or services as
entitlement to the grant only occurs when the performance related
conditions are met (5.16 FRS 102 SORP).
These are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SoFA) when:
 the charity becomes entitled to the resources;
 it is more likely than not that the trustees will receive the resources;
 the monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliability.
Offsetting
There has been no offsetting of assets and liabilities, or income and
expenses, unless required or permitted by the FRS 102 SORP or FRS 102.
Grants and donations
Grants and donations are only included in the SoFA when the general
income recognition criteria are met (5.10 to 5.12 FRS102 SORP).

Legacies are included in the SOFA when receipt is probable, that is, when
there has been grant of probate, the executors have established that there
are sufficient assets in the estate and any conditions attached to the legacy
are either within the control of the charity or have been met.
Government grants
The charity has received government grants in the reporting period
Donated goods for resale are measured at fair value on initial recognition,
which is the expected proceeds from sale less the expected costs of sale,
and recognised in 'Income from other trading activities' with the
corresponding stock recognised in the balance sheet. On its sale the value
Goods donated for on-going use by the charity are recognised as tangible
fixed assets and included in the SoFA as incoming resources when
receivable.
The cost of any stock of goods donated for distribution to beneficiaries is
deemed to be the fair value of those gifts at the time of their receipt and they
are recognised on receipt. In the reporting period in which the stocks are
distributed, they are recognised as an expense at the carrying amount of the
stocks at distribution.
Contractual income and
performance related
grants
This is only included in the SoFA once the charity has provided the related
goods or services or met the performance related conditions.
Donated goods
Donated goods are measured at fair value (the amount for which the asset
could be exchanged) unless impractical to do so.
Tax reclaims on
donations and gifts
Gift Aid receivable is included in income when there is a valid declaration
from the donor. Any Gift Aid amount recovered on a donation is considered
to be part of that gift and is treated as an addition to the same fund as the
initial donation unless the donor or the terms of the appeal have specified
otherwise.
Legacies
Volunteer help
The value of any voluntary help received is not included in the accounts but
is described in the trustees’ annual report.
Income from interest,
royalties and dividends
This is included in the accounts when receipt is probable and the amount
receivable can be measured reliably.
Donated services and
facilities
Donated services and facilities are included in the SOFA when received at
the value of the gift to the charity provided the value of the gift can be
measured reliably.
Donated services and facilities that are consumed immediately are
recognised as income with an equivalent amount recognised as an expense
under the appropriate heading in the SOFA.
Support costs
The charity has incurred expenditure on support costs.
Gifts in kind for use by the charity are included in the SoFA as income from

Liability recognition

goods and services as income from charitable activities.
Settlement of insurance
claims
Insurance claims are only included in the SoFA when the general income

Redundancy cost
The charity made no redundancy payments during the reporting period.
Deferred income
No material item of deferred income has been included in the accounts.

The charity has heritage assets, that is, non-monetary assets with historic,
