REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2021

The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 June 2021. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Objectives and aims

The objects of the charity are the preservation and protection of human life, in particular but not exclusively, by the education of the public in the dangers of automatic gates and barriers and the education of installers and users of automatic gates and barriers of preventative measures required to ensure safe operation.

Significant activities

To the year ending 30th June 2021 we trained 328 delegates with our IOSH approved Gate Safe Aware Distance Learning. During the continuing pandemic GSSC Ltd decided to not return to face to face training events until the pandemic shows signs of abating and social restrictions have been removed.

GSSC Ltd continue to undertake site surveys for unsafe gates both on site when restrictions allow and through desk surveys. Through our supporter Clear Safety we are offering free of charge desk based risk assessments for schools in the UK to improve awareness of gate safety and to improve the quality of the safety compliance to help protect the vulnerable children as a significant number of accidents occur every year to children and vulnerable persons. In addition for the Gate Safe Aware installers the members area documents have been revised and improved and more tools / help has been added to our CRM Hub which aids the installers to manage the project from start to finish and compile the technical file.

Gate Safe will continue to hold cash reserves to ensure the longevity of our business in the uncertain economic times.

The Trustees confirm that they have had due regard for the charity commission's guidance on public benefit.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
