The trustees present their report wth the financial statements of the chariiy for the year ended
31 De¢ember 2022. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement of Re¢ommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordan￿ with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS
1021 leffedive 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The principle objectives and aims of th8 charity are-
1. Advancement of the Islamic faith
2 Relief of poverty
3. Advancement of education
4. R81ief of unemployment
5. Relief of sickness
6. The preservation and protection of good health
7. Assistance and relief for victims of war. natural disasters or other catastrophe's around the world.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Funds in Surplus
The charity received donations of £70.615 (2021: £90.147) for the period to 31st December 2022.
After outgoing expenses of £67,240 (2021.. £58,895), the ¢harity was left with a surplus of £3,375
{2021.. £31.2521 for the period to 31st December 2022.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Al-madina Intemational Islamic
Institution Sylhet (the Trust) for the year ended 31 December 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity truslees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {Ihe Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carrred out under Section 145 of the Act
and in ¢arrying OLrt my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under Section 14515)Ibl of the Act.
Indopondent oxaminerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me Gause to believe that in any material respect..
accounting records were not keFrt in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act,.
or
the a¢counts do not accord wrth those records.. or
the a¢counts do nol comply with the applicable requirements conceming the fom and content
of accounts set out in the Charrties (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that a¢counts give a tru8 and fair view which is not a matter considered as part
of an independent examination.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statemants
The financial statements of the charrty. which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have
been prepared in accordance with Ihe Charities SORP IFRS 102) 'Accounling and Reporting by
Charities. Statement of Recommended Pradice applicable to charilies preparing their accounts
in accordance wth Ihe Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019),, Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Charities Act 2011.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement
lo Ihe funds, it is probable that the income will be re￿iVed and Ihe amount Can be measured
reliably.
Expendlture
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a 18gal or constructive obligation
committing the charity to that expendrture, it is probable that a transfer of economic bénefits will
be required in settlement and the amounl of the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that
aggregate all Cost related to the category Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular
headings they have teen allocated to activities on a basis consistenl with the use of resources.
Tangible fixed assets
Deprecialion is provided at the following annual rates in order to write i)ff each asset over its
estimated useful life.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accountlng
Unrestricted funds can be used in aGcordance wrth the charitable obJ"ectives at the discretion of
the trustees
Restricted funds can only be used for particular restncted purposes within the objects of the
charity. Restridions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular
restricted purposes.
