The Loft has been running since November 2013. The fact that it remains open requires enormous thanks to all the people who have supported it over the years either volunteering at the sessions, financially supporting or supporting events that we have run. An organisation such as this relies hugely on the support of the community and it is important that we maintain their trust in the Center. However, it is also right and proper that we ensure the Loft is working with the people that it was set up to serve, and therefore the Trustees have begun a review of our operating procedures and how we can best make contact with the local teenagers. This has primarily been made possible by the legacy that we received from the estate of Roy Whitmore, for which we are very grateful.
Our Tuesday night session is run by Alison Forward who has submitted her own report and so I dont wish to repeat what she has said. We thank her for her enthusiasm and for the wide variety of activities that she and the volunteers provide to the attendees. This year also saw another successful Latitude which provides a very beneficial source of income, and it would be good to see more of the children that attend the Loft coming and helping in the marquee. We have been invited back again and so will work will soon begin on preparations for that.
