Objectives and activities
Summary of objectives".
To relieve the needs of burns survivors up to the age of 17 years throughout the UK
particularly but not exclusively by funding and organising residential camps for said burns
survivors, their familie5, and carers. The purpose of which is to assist rehabilitation, foster
f riendship and offer advice, information, and support.
Volunteers play a major part in all aspects of the charities work throughout the year. This
can range from fundraising, assisting with transport or attending one of the camps as a
chaperone, to name just a few of the tasks it takes to run the charity. They all give their
time free of charge, enabling us to spend the money raised where it is needed most, in
which the Trustees would like to express their thank5 and appreciation to all concerned.
Summary of artivities undertaken:
With keepin8 in line with the Charity Commission's guidelines and our own constitution, our
focus for the year was directed to the benefit of the young burn's survivors, their families,
and carers. Regardless of severity of burn, ethnic or religious background, helping to build
their esteem, confidence, and self-worth, through integration with other burns survivors
and setting them achievable but challenging goals, be it as a group or an individual.
Achievements and performance:
August 2023
Our annual National Summer camp for young burns survivors aged from 8 to 17 was held at
Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire which was attended by 22 children and 7 volunteer
chaperones from around the UK. The residential camps are designed around bringing young
burns survivors together, understanding that they are not the only one. Working on
activities such as raft building, canoeing, archery, cycling etc. all activities giving children
different challenges, but all geared towards raising that person's self-esteem and
confidence. The week also included visits to an adventure park- Wicksteed Park, bowling
and swimming.
Ortober/ November 2023
National Jamboree, is a residential camp, held annually at Grafham Water with the same
aims and objectives as the summer camp, only designed to work with a younger age group
of 8 to 13 year olds, a5 for many it could be their first camp or away from home. This year

the camp was larger than the summer one with 32 children and 11 volunteer chaperones.
with new burn service clubs attending.
