UK Registered Charity Number: **1148910** ## **CAMDOCUK REPORT OF ANNUAL ACTIVITIES 2025** ## **Statement from Chairperson – Dr. Linda Bello** As I continue my second term as Chairperson of CamDocUK, re-elected in March 2024, I am deeply grateful for your trust and support. With two years remaining in this term, I am invigorated by the opportunities ahead and committed to advancing our collective vision. Over the past year, CamDocUK has flourished both within the UK and internationally. We've built upon our past achievements, navigated new challenges, and strengthened our ties within the medical community and beyond. I extend my heartfelt thanks to my Executive Team and all our members for their unwavering dedication and passion. Your hard work, often behind the scenes, drives our success and embodies the spirit of CamDocUK. I'm thrilled to announce that Dr. Judwin Ndzo has graciously returned to support our Neonatal Equipment Project and other initiatives in the role of Project Manager. Her expertise and commitment are invaluable to our mission. Our CamDocUK webinars remain a vibrant part of our mission to engage and educate. Our "Talking With the Community" series is now in its 27th edition. In June 2025, we launched a new Mentorship Webinar Series – Young Professional Cameroonian mentorship – a monthly career advice webinar for students and young graduates. We also strengthened our links with our sister associations. In September, I had the pleasure of attending the MedCamSwiss Conference and Gala in Lausanne. It was a joy to connect with our fellow Cameroonian medics in Switzerland and to witness the strength of our international medical family. The president of the association is at the gala today as well as representatives from Italy, Belgium and Germany. Our collaboration with the Patcha Foundation continued, supporting their medical mission in Baloum, West Region of Cameroon, in June. Special thanks to Dr. Nkwayep Mpafe, Dr. Judwin Ndzo, and Dr. Elvis Ngassa, who represented CamDocUK, delivered essential medical equipment, and lent their expertise. A few of us also provided advice remotely. Despite being a relatively small association, CamDocUK continues to thrive – powered by passion, resilience, and unity. The energy and joy we experience when we gather – at OGMs, webinars, and AGM are proof that we are more than an association. We are a family. ## **A. Meetings Held This Year** CamDocUK normally holds 3 meetings a year – two ordinary meetings and a general assembly. The latter was accompanied by a fundraising gala event. MOU and Partnership Updates** There have been no changes to our existing MOU’s and partnerships. 1. **Michael & Mauritia Patcha Foundation (MMPF):** As usual, we took part in the annual medical mission organised by the MMPF in Cameroon, and we also donated equipment. 2. **Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN):** We have partnered with CAHN to help us with grant/bid writing. 3. Members of **Better Health for Africa** . 4. **University of Buea** : We are still waiting for the goahead from the administration in order to facilitate educational activities between CamDocUK and the university. 5. **University of Yaoundé I:** We are working on a longterm partnership for ongoing scientific development and cooperation. ## **Other Existing MOUs** 1. BAPIO 2. University of Dschang � ## **C. Educational Activities** Our annually paid Zoom account has enabled us run educational webinars for the Cameroonian and African communities. We have had **4 Webinars** so far on various topics: **Diabetes - All You Need to Know, Navigating** **Dementia, Fostering Resilience – Preparing and Coping with Adversity, and Research Participation within the Black Community.** These have been well received by the public. Our Journal clubs continue but have gone from fortnightly to monthly. This is only open to medics. Members are able to use the paid Zoom account as part of their membership benefits. ## **D. Ongoing Projects** ## **1. Maternal and Neonatal Care Project in Cameroon** This was launched in July 2023, targeted at improving the healthcare of mothers in Cameroon. We continued with our maternal and neonatal care project in Cameroon with procurement and shipping the equipment to Cameroon. Mboppi Hospital in Douala, Cameroon was identified by CamDocUK as a suitable health facility for the equipment, having both the clinical need and the personnel required to operate and maintain it. The project has entered its final phase, focusing on the installation, testing, and commissioning of all equipment to ensure optimal performance. We are also working closely with hospital personnel to provide training on the safe and effective use of the equipment. We anticipate completing the project in 2026. ## **2. Young Cameroonian Professionals Mentorship Programme** In June 2025, we launched the Young Cameroonian Professionals Mentorship Programme with the aim of providing career guidance and mentorship to young people across a wide range of professional fields, extending beyond healthcare. The programme was established to help participants explore different career pathways, gain insights into various industries, and make informed decisions about their professional development. Since its launch, the programme has been a success. It has attracted participants from different career backgrounds and this has foster meaningful discussions between aspiring and experienced professionals. Each month, we host webinars featuring panels of professionals from different sectors who share their career journeys, challenges, achievements, and lessons learned. These sessions provide valuable real-world perspectives and serve to inspire and motivate younger professionals as they navigate their own career paths. The positive feedback received from participants has highlighted the programme's impact in increasing career awareness, building confidence, and creating networking opportunities. YCPMP continues to grow and remains an ongoing initiative, with plans to further expand its reach and continue supporting the professional development of young people. **E. Finance** A full financial report is available for viewing on the Charity Commission website. ## **F.
