2. Objectives and Activi￿8
To advance, educate and inc¥ease the appreoatson of music by the public, s￿[fiCallY
orchestral and instrumental music. ty means of educational con￿rtS and workshops for
children of school age ?nd the provision and FKesenUion of con￿rtS of orchestral music for the
general public.
In the year Aug 1 2022- Juty 31st 2023 concert￿pIlng activty was back to full involvement as
the pandemic abated, with a total of 21 concerts perforn￿- either as SPM promotions or in
partnership wtth other charitable organisations.
The Trustees have met once in the 2022-2023 year and have had regard to the guKlance
issued by the Charity Commission on public benefft.
3. Flnanclal review
The Charty's resep48s are held as cash, currently deposited with Bardays Bank. The opening
balan￿ of total ¢ash assets as at Aug 18t 2022 was £33.712.20 and the closing balan￿ on July
3151 2023 was £36,828.31. There was a 'neY increase in reserves during the year Aug 22 - July
23 of £3,116.11 (largely due to encouraging ticket receipts from SPM'S conwt promotions
and generous donation$}.
The Charity aims to maintain sufficient reseNes to prevent cash-17tr￿ drfficullies wrlhin a COn￿rt
season and to develop further actiwties a(xxxdi￿d to its Charitable aims.

Respectfve responsibilities of Trustees and Examin
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.
The charity's Trustees consider that an audtl is not required for this year under section 144 of
th8 Charibes Act 2011 (the Charities A(*) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to=
8xamine the accounts urKler section 145 of the Chariiies Act
to follow the procedures laid dovm in the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission (under section 145{5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention
Basis of Independent examlnevs statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charrty
Cornmission. An examination inclLKles a rev￿ of the accounts.ng records kept by the charity
and a comparison of the accounts presented with these records. It also includes ￿nSIderation
of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the
Trustees conceming any such matters. The pro¢&Jures undertaken do not provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audit. and consequently no opinion is given as to vthether
the accounts present p Yrue and fairf view and th8 r8POrt is limrted to those rnatters set out in
the statement below.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention..
