Activities
During 2012- 13, DDA carried out cultural event attended by 110 people. This highlighted Somali culture and brought together people from different background aimed at promoting social cohesion and integration of migrant community. DDA also provided information & advice to 80 individuals on wide ranging services. Recruited, trained and used the service of 3 volunteers in delivering its services.
Objects: (A)to Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Working With People In Barnet, Brent Ealing, Hounslow, Harrow, Hammersmith And Fulham And The Surrounding Areas Who Are Socially Excluded On The Grounds Of Their Ethnic Origin, Religion, Belifef Or Creed (In Particular, Members Of The Somali Community) To Relieve The Needs Of Such People And Assist Them To Integrate Into Society, In Particular By: 1. Providing A Local Network Group That Encourages And Enables Members Of The Somali Community To Participate More Effectively With The Wider Community. 2.Increasing, Or Co-Ordinating, Opportunities For Members Of The Somali Community To Engage With Service Providers, To Enable Those Providers To Adapt Services To Better Meet The Needs Of That Community. 3. Providing Education And Information To Support And Enable Parents To Maximise Educational Opportunities For Their Children. 4.Providing Workshops, Forums, Advocacy And General Support. (B)the Relief Of Need Hardship And Distress Among People Living In Countries In The Horn Of Africa And Particularly But Not Exclusively The Somali Inhabited Regions Of Kenya, Ethiopia And Somalia.
