Objectives and Activities
For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of animals in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals.
To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.
Activities relating to objects:

Taking in rescued sighthounds and providing accommodation, care and veterinary treatment for them

Seeking permanent homes for rescued sighthounds

Providing education and information to the public regarding sighthound welfare and owning a sighthound as a pet
The Trustees have, at all times, had due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity commission when planning the activities of the charity.
Erin Hounds is grateful for the contribution of its volunteers in fundraising, fostering, homechecking, transporting hounds and attending public events.
All Erin Hounds policies and procedures are available for viewing and reflect current practice.
Summary of main achievements during year

49 dogs have been homed during the year 1[st] October 2023 – 30[th] September 2024.

Kennelling, transport and veterinary care have been provided to all of these dogs.

Fundraising has been ongoing and many generous public donations have been received.

Public events have taken place.

Information has been provided to the public via social media and the website and through the regular newsletter.

New fosterers have been recruited.

A mobile card payment device has been purchased to allow easier collection of funds at events.

Tho Trustees have reviewed the charity's need for reserves in line with the guidance issued by the Charity Commission and, whilst it Is not always possible. Il Is the policy of Ihe chanty to try and hold unreStrted reserves of £20,000 al all limes. The trustees eonsider that this policy is pwdent. Al the end of the year, the tharity was holding more reserves than usual. However, the trustee's reserves pdicy remains the sarne and any excess reserves will be used to help more eldedy dogs and those in need of gn90ing medical Ifealment. Admlnlstratlon The administration of the charity is handled by the trustees listed on page 2. The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees, report above. Respective r¢¥ponsibilities of tru$tees and exarniner As the charity trustees you are reSponsie for the preparati¢)n of the accx)unls in accordance with the requirements of Ihe Chanlies Act 2011 (the Act}. I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 Df the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145151{b} ol the Act.
