Objectives and Activities

For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of animals in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals.

To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.

Activities relating to objects:

The Trustees have, at all times, had due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity commission when planning the activities of the charity.

Erin Hounds is grateful for the contribution of its volunteers in fundraising, fostering, homechecking, transporting hounds and attending public events.

All Erin Hounds policies and procedures are available for viewing and reflect current practice.

The Trustees have reviewed the charrty's nee(1 for reserves in line with the guidance issued by the Charity Commission and, whilst it is not akvays possible. it is the policy of the charity to ty and hold unrestricted reserves of £20,000 al all limes. The trustees consider that this policy Is prudent. Al the end of the year. the charity was holding more ￿selVeS than usual. However. the trustee's reserves policy remains the same and any excess reserves Vdill be used to help more elderfy dogs and Ih05e in need of ongoing medical treatment.
