Erin Hounds is an Unincorporated Charitable Association 

Trustees are appointed by the board of Trustees at the Annual General Meeting 

## _**Objectives and Activities**_ 

For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of animals in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals. 

To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals. 

Activities relating to objects: 

- Taking in rescued sighthounds and providing accommodation, care and veterinary treatment for them 

- Seeking permanent homes for rescued sighthounds 

- Providing education and information to the public regarding sighthound welfare and owning a sighthound as a pet 



The Trustees have, at all times, had due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity commission when planning the activities of the charity. 

Erin Hounds is grateful for the contribution of its volunteers in fundraising, fostering, homechecking, transporting hounds and attending public events. 

All Erin Hounds policies and procedures are available for viewing and reflect current practice. 

## _**Summary of main achievements during year**_ 

- 95 dogs have been homed during the year 1[st] October 2019 – 30[th] September 2020, taking care to follow Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines at all times. 

- Kennelling, transport and veterinary care have been provided to all of these dogs. 

- Fundraising has been limited due to the pandemic but many generous public donations have been received. 

- Public events have also been curtailed due to the pandemic but information has continued to be disseminated via social media. 

- Information has been provided to the public via social media and the website and through the regular newsletter. 

- New fosterers have been recruited.

Finances & Donations
Income has exceeded expenditure in the General Fund by £5,820 this year 12019.. expenditur8

The Trustees have reviewed th8 charity S ll88d for reserves in line with the guidance issued by the
Charity Commission and. whibt it is not a￿ayS possible. il 15 the policy of the charity to try arKJ hold
unreslricled re$erve5 of E20,000 at all times. The trustees consider that this policy is prudent.
At the end ol the year. the charity was holding rnore reserves than usual. However. the trustee's
reserves poli¢y remains the satne and any excess reserves will be used to help more elderly dogs and
those In need of ongoing rnedi¢al treatment.
