(b) advan￿ education through sponsorship, free education. after-school classes, training programs and the offering of reSoUr￿S to ill-equipped schools. (c) Relieve poverty or financial hardship in Africa by providing or assisting in the provision of education. training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient. Summary of the main activities in relation to those Purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identffied in the accounts. Para 1.17 a￿1 1.19 All our charrtable activty for this financial year has focused on the provision of education and support for some of the poorest most disadvantaged families in the Moshono communty in Northem Tanzania. We continue to sponsor the education of 83 children in Tanzania, children who would otherwise not be in school, let alone recieving a good qualty education. We provide the funds to cover their school fees, unrfomis, shoes. sportswear, a school bag arid stationery. We also ensure the school fees paid include two meals a day for all the children. As at October 2024 we have 14 children at Primary School and 46 in secondary school. 11 in Yr 5 and 2 in Yr 6, 3 on vocational courses 11 and 7 have completed their sponsorship through Rise Afnca. For secor)dary educab'on we continue to use a boarding school option. the Renea School, which has one of boys and one for girls and they are boarding schools. This ensures the children are able to really focus on their education and maximise the opportunity we are offering them. Penina visits the school on a regular and we remain extremely impressed by the school and all it does tor the children. The children love Renea and all say they prefer school to home l! All the students r￿1ve fijll payment for their school fees, which we pay direcuy to the schools, we then provide all the children wilh new shoes. bags and stationery twi￿ a year. We provide all the secondary school students wtth boarding school needs. texlbooks. dictionaries and calculators. Renea School now has the 40 computers and the dedicated compLrter studies classroom for the use of the boys and the girls. We also aim to provide those students that go to university with a laptop compLrter. We have continued to provide families with food essentials a year, once in June and once in De￿rnber, these food parcels usually contain rice. maize flour. cooking oil, salt and soap. The Girl Project- We continue to help all 45 Rise Africa girfs with sanrtary pads and new underwear throughout the year. The Feeding Program has continued to be essential in helping children and their families durtng the school holidays. The families remain in need of our help and for some it's become an issue as to where they are going to live and we are reviewing how we might be able to help. We were again able to donate food on 2 separate occasions during the year as it remains a real struggle to eam rnoney to feed themselves during the holiday peri(MJs. Each food parcel costs circa £25 The Girl Project- Young gids who do not have money to buy sanitary pads often use old cloth or anything they can find, bLrt these rneth¢xls are unhygienic and often lead to infections. We have therefore helped these girls with sanrtary pads throughout the year costing £560 a year. Through this project we have also supplied all the girls with new undeNear. cost.ng a total of £350 for all 45 girls. School fees have in¢yeased to £750 a year for secondary students and around £600 for primary students. Most sponsors have increased their donations lo cover this increase. And the strengthen pound has assisted limiting the need for additional sponsorship. During the year we lost one sponsor but replaced them with a new sponsor and have a few possible fijture sponsors in the background should we need them. This was due to the computer project funds being included at the year end 2022123. However there is an outstsnding gtft aid claim and with this included for the year 2023r24 Rise Afn"ca had a surplus of £3439. statement explaining the policy frjr holding reserves stating why they are held All of this has been a110&3ted to pay for the year 20241245 school fees, stationary, unifonns etc. The schools have increased the school fees for 2024125 and most of our sponsors have increased their contributions. However, with the improved exchange rates the impact of the fee increases has been minimal. We will use extra funds to cover the rise in costs and the additional rise in the costs of all the school supplies we provide. The charity is also run on the basis that we keep 12 months of costs in the bank to ensure we have time to react should circumstan￿$ or our fund-raising change signfficantly.
