Youth arrfl Chlldren's Min151ry
Throughout thi5 year we have 5tru8gled to find leaders ty helpers to serve in these ministries. This has resulted
in us only being able to ofler diretted Children's and Youth / young people's work twice monthty. Recruitin8
volurTrteers to seNe in this ministry is not an issue unique to us but one that we are prayerfully seeking
solutions to enhance the offer we currently provide.
As reported in last yearfs report. we leased z Portakabin for use primarily as a resource for teachin8 Youth. This
works well for us with good feedback from the youth. teacher5 and helpers however the cost of this is hi8h so
in the next year we will be looking at alternat¢ve 501utions to that of the continued leasing of the Ponakabin as
we turrently remasn challenged-for space lor teathing and 5UPPQrtin8 Children's and Youth attivities on

Hirers continue to grow and than8e as their needs change ¥Ath many community hirer5 remaining ttjmmitte
to usin£'our facilities. A future piece of work that we need to engage in is a review of rental costs lor
accommodation as some hirers.havè been with us over many years and have benefitted from a lower than
inflationary costs charge. Under the Dirertws of the Oak Tree Centre. we will be looking at how we tan
increase income from attommodation and bring our charges more in line wth other similar centres.
We continue to pause the buTrldin8 of Phase 2unyil finances are more buoyant. We continue io repay loan
requirements.from the original Phase I buildin8 but acknowledge that the longer we wait to commence
building on Phase 2 (incorporating a 450-seat auditorium, youth areas and fvrther offices), costs lor new
building continues tg escalate that makes Phase 2 a thallenge.
Firture Plans
The Oak Tree Centre-The Trustees ￿togniSe that the￿ is an Int￿351ng need to build Phase 2 of the Oak Tree

alongside of the Directors ol the Oak Tree Centre to find 501utions to these challenges.
Leadership and I￿rnan¢t - We are curyentty a small leadership team for the size of the church. $0 we

the Leadership Team during this reporting period. In spring 2024. wth the 5UPPOrt of the thurch congregation.
we rnoved from a position ol membership to one of partnership. The practicalities of how this will be
implemented to meet the needs of the 8aptist Associatyon's congregation governance model are still being
worked through. but this does Mean that our Artbdes of Association will require significant rnodification that
will happen in the following 12 months to more deady reflert the struciure and governance of the church.
Life troups - Under the direction of one ol the Leade￿hIP Tearn. the purpose and potentizl for 'doinB life

but we appreciate that there is still muth to be done to promote these important group5 across the church.
