We continued to develop our ambitious strategy to fijrther our support for all UK parents, worklng lo improve both

Our helpline team dealt wrth 5,691 contacts seeking non-directive information and spgcialis8d support {vla
ernail. calls. Live Chat and SMSI.
ARC'S website's Te8ource5 reached approximately 94.OC43 people and posts on Instagram and Facebook
reached 13,300 peoplo.
We provided tailored support lo 530 recently bereaved families via our Peer Support Network.
W8 maintained our online bereavement 8UPPOrt provoslon for 5,681 forum members.
We held our annual fac8-to-fa￿ Infomiation and Support Day for parents in November, a valuable chancè
for parents lo mgel our stsff and trustee5 and hear from expert speakers.
Leaming from our anonymous survey for parents in summer 2023, whith helped us belter undeisland the
demographic backgrounds and needs of parents that we help. we are able to build a range of more a¢cessible,
inclusive services and resources. We do rv)t hear as often from parents from èthnic minority groups, younger
parents and those from more disadvantaged backgrounds and so a key priority was exiending our leach more
inclusively around the UK Ihrough 8xpanding the ways that users can access our hdpline, resources and meelings.

Support for professlonals
We considered the data gathered from th8 2023 professional survey, and wider feedback from professional training
and servicè engagement, lo target areas of the county where we see fewer referrals from hospital and dinics. In
the last yeai".
We delivered 67 in-pefson ARC training sessions to 1.432 heallh pmle88ional8 linduding slud&nts) across
all four counliie5 of the UK, with 57 face-l<>face sessions and 10 online. 25 of the face Ir) f8ce sessions
were free lo professionals to increasè re8ch in underseNed areas.
We ran 12 online Case Cafes. a chance for prof8ssionals to safely dlscuss a range of sensitive toplcs via
Zoom.
We rea¢hed over 3,000 healthcarè professiona15 Vl8 talks and sLinds al national conferences and foiurns
including the Royal College of Midwives, IRCMI Conference, the British Matemal and Felal Medicine
Society's IBMFMSI Conference (both in Liv8rpooll, the International So¢iety for Prenatal Diagnosis in
Edinburgh. the joint RCM and Sands, Conference in Northern Ireland, the International Slillbirth Alliance
Conference in Sheffield, a Support Day at University College London and a Fetal Medicine Day at Liverptsol
Women's Hospital. These w8r8 8xc8llenl opportunities to promote our services and expand connections
with professionals across the UK.
We hav8 established a new online quèstionnaire for professionals. helping us fflore o)n¢isely galhei and
analyse those who engage with our services.
We ran our first ever online Conference for professionals in September 2023 on the theme of Leaming from E4¢h
Other- A Four Counlry View. This was attended by 189 professionals acr05$ the UK with very positivè lèèdback..

ernbed the TOPFA bereavement pathway into their workplace. We also continued lo sit on the following policy
forums Scottish Pregnancy and Newborn Screening Board, the Uttrasound Screenlng Standard Development Group
and the Scollish NIPT Evalu81ion Group, and provided peer support gTOUPS in both th8 Glasg¢)w and Lolhian8 area
for bereaved pa￿￿ts.
Our Coordinator for Wale8 returned from maternity leavg In Ihls period. She worked dosely with ihe Hèad of
Programme al Antenatal Screening Wales to dèlwer Ir8ining days lo all seven haalth boards. She attended the
Antènatal Screenillg Wales. Down's Syndrome, Edwards, Syndrorne & Palau's Syndrome and Felal Anomaly

We continued to sil on the core group of the National Bereavement Care Pathway in England and Scotland lo
disseminat8 bèst practice in care aft8r pregnancy and baby loss.
We sel up an expert clinical group which developed and published a resource. Parenl-centred Guidelines for Care
After Diagnosis of a NHS FASP Condition.. a consensus guidan¢o docurnenl lo support all units lo provide high
quality care to Parents after prenatal diagnosis.
We continued our sponsorship of and feature tsn the popular b￿rnon1h￿ podcast 'Time lo Talk TFMR,, which has
now rel8ased 58 episodes and exceetled 75.000 download8.
Increaslng our work wlth diverse communitlès
In 2023.24, we began piloting partnerships wSlh organi8alions who btslong to the national charity Home-
Start UK . an establishèd network of local community charities, support slaff and trained volunteers who
work with families wtth young Children in disadvantaged communities, helping them through challengin9
times. Togglher we are building a series of initiativès to help us beller engage wth families from a ran9e of
ethnic and so¢io-economic backgroun(ls. Those partnerships will be fonnalised in the Autumn of 2024.
In Order to extend our reach Into black and ethn￿ rninorily communilies we partnered with respected soaal
SC4ent15t Dr Michelle Pater. Dr Peler started a fellowship PhD research project 'Genetic Screening and
diagnosis during p￿gnancy.. What are the experiences of Bla(J¢ women and their families?, and we arg
supporting her in an advisory and fvndrng caparyty, co-chairtng the Patient and Public Involvefflenl Advisory
Group, and helping to dissèminate research findings. We will consider how outcomes ftom Ihis project can
help us shape sorvices for the Black community and other parents of colour.
We worked with Dr Petsr and a Bangladeshi community wother in Tower Hamlets to run quarterfy
educational group sessions for Bangladeshi young women on anl&nalal care and heallhy pregnan¢y. The
community worker acts as an interpreter antl has highlighted lo us how helplul {8n¢J enjoyable) the
attendees have found the groups

The unprècedènted gifts received in FY2020121 and 2021122 transformèd ARC'S ability to meèt its current

As ouUin&d in our review of activitie$ above, we are part way through our programme of work running through lo the
end of 2026 to ensure that ARC builds a strong UK-wid8 profile and expands partnerships with professiona15 and
policy makers. We hav8 a designated investment fund Currently standing al £985,160 to cover the ongoing thr8e-
year development programme.
Throughout IhSs proc8$s we are careftjl to maint8in 8 level of reserves which wlll secure our delivery capaeity and
ensure that we can look ahead confidently. Accordingly, it is the policy of the Irustees lo secure the following reserve

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wilh the charity's goveming document. the
Companiès Act 2006, thè Charitiès and Tmstee Investment {Scotlandl Act 2005, the Charities Accounts
{ScoUandl Regulations 2006 las amended) and "Accovnling and Rèporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of
Recofflmended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their ac¢ounls in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effecllve 1 January 2019)" The
charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The financial slalemenls are prepared in sterling, which Is the functional ¢XJrr￿CY of the charity. Monetary
amounls in these financAal $talements are rounded to the n8arest £.
The financial sl8lemenls h8ve been prepared undgr tha historical cost convention, Imodlfled to include the
revalualio)n of freehold properties and lo include investment properties and certain financial instruments 81 fair
valuel. The principal accounting policies adopted are sel out below.

At the litne ol approving the financial statements, the Iruslees havo a ￿aSOnable expecialion that the charity

continue to adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the finanual slatem9nls.

Unreslricled funds are availabl8 for use al th8 discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their tharitable
objectives.
Reslficled lunds are subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be usèd. The
purposes and uses of Ihe restricted fvnds are sel out in the notes to the fjnancAal slalernents.

charity.
1.4 Incom•

Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been notified
