Administrative Infomiation
Trinity Church. Ab1￿k￿. is a L(Kal EfwmenKal PrOj￿t with the participatsng denom1na￿nS
being the Methodist Church of Great Brikn'n and the Unrted Ref(xmed Church. The
appropriate auttK)rity each participats'ng Church is The Wantage and Abingdon Circuit of
the Methodist Church (one of 23 Cir￿rtS ￿)MprisI￿ the N(%thampton Distnct) and The
Wessex Syncmd of the United Refomied Church.
The Minister of the Church and Chair of Trusiees was Rev lan Gnffilhs unbl 31st August
2024,. Rev Georgina Bondzi-simpson Wme Chair of Tfustees on 1# September 2024. At
the end of the ￿porting year there were 11 Trustees. We have Stewards who ensure that
services run Sm￿1hty and Elders who prov¥de pastoral support ts the Church members
and those wrth a conneuion to the Churth. Tlwe are 80 Church members, afthough many
more people fr￿n the kKal c(xnmunty att￿￿1 wr services and use our fac41rties.
The Constitution of Trinrty Church was on 1•t Marth 2012 Trinty Church,
Abingdon achieved dwitable status aThJ was enter￿1 ￿t0 ￿ Register of CharitEs with the
Registered Charity Number 1148634 on 17th August 2012.
Mission Statement
The Mission Statement of Trinty Church states that we aim lo serve God, serve the
communty and sfft each otherf.
Meebngs
Over the last year thwe were 8 Trustees ￿ing$ and 4 Churth Meetings HKluding the
Annual General Meeling.
During autumn 2023. the Tnjstees were kept infomied about the statsoning process. In
November, Rev Georgina kndzl-slmps￿ visited Trinty and All Saints churches in
Abingdon and subsequently yted ts invrtation to F)in the Wantage and Abingdon
Circurt subJe(# to the approval of the MetlNJlist conferen￿ in July.
At the same time. lan and Tabitha Gnfffths similarly a(xwted an invitation to be part of the
Newport and L<ywer Circurt in Swih Wales. sUbJ￿t to the approval of the Methodist
conferen￿ in Juty. s￿¥￿*5 we I￿ld to mark the ￿ of lan's ministry at Trinity and in
the CIn￿rt and to offer lan and Tabitha best IMshes ts Iheir re•V ministry in South Wales.
The Trustees shared infomiation and had sLwne dIs￿SS￿￿ atKKrt pra(aKxI arrangements
for the arrival of Rev G￿lna Bondz1-Simps￿. t￿)lh in lemis of thurch improvernents and
in relab'on to updates on the work needed in the manse. A SWI￿ ￿as held for
Rev Ge(Ygina Bondzi-simpson on 30th August

Worship
Church services are each Sunday MOMIn￿ commencing at 10:30am.
Average attendan￿ at weekly Church servKX was 51 with numbers rangirvj from 32 to
116. A number of members are unable to altWKI on a wular tBsis due to health and
mobility issues.
A ilthing Together Group ￿th members from Trinty Churth aThJ All Saints Church has
been estsblished to foster doser co11al￿tiOn behveen the t*ti chur￿￿ as we share a
minister and a deac￿. There were several Joint sefvices All Sa"nts Chufth during the
year, at Trinty and at All Saints.
The Harvest Festival was hekl on 24th September 2023 with food gifts going to Abingdon
Foodbank and cash donations to Asylum Vklwne.
The Church celebraled rts anniversary on Sunday 26th November. A CIV￿ Servic£ was held
on Surmaay 10° Decynber at which ts Mayof vas pre￿t. this was by Deacon Selina
Nisbett. the Mayorfs d￿plain. The annual Chrisknas Grft Service was held on 3rd December
and an aftemcK)n Carol SerNryce on 1Tr t)ecember. Thwe was an afteM(￿ Christingle
servi￿ on 24th December led by Deacon Selina Nisbett with (kniations to Action for
child￿n, and donations at the Christmas momww Sery1￿ led by Rev lan Griffiths were for
Crisis Skylight Oxf￿d.
At Ea￿er, the Maundy Thursday Even¥KJ servKx was shared at Abirydon Baptist Chufch.
Dea￿n Sdina Nisbett led the Go(xJ Friday moming servKx at Trinty. which was a joint
seNie2 With All saints Church. Our Easter morning service at Trinty was I￿1 by Revd. John
Anderson.
Public Benefft
The churth arKI Conduit Centre premises are regularfy used by local (Kganisations and
individuals for a wide range of events and activiljes. The Church supwrts a numter of
local, national and intematsnal chathies by (kxth'ng to th￿'r ￿USeS and appeals.

The Churth continues to supwxt sdK)L4s' Lxrtreach thr(NJgh Trinity Leaming.
Trinity
Leaming was originally set up as a Church proied but was so successful that in 2019 it was
estsblished as a separate Charitable IncorFwaied Organisation (Registered Chanty No
1182742) with a separate Board of Trustees. Tr Church proth office and Me￿Ing
spa(% for the charity.
Tha Trustees were delighted thal 'Ex[￿nCe Eastw, Was knted in Church once again.

Financlal Inf0rn7ation
About 60% of the Church income comes from frethyill giv1￿j (and assLKiated Grft Aid) from
Church members and supportus aNI a furttw 11Yh from leth.ry of ￿ premises. Well over
90¥0 of freewill income comes from d(xwtions via stsnding order with only 7% being cash
donations at services. MemLHs resKxMded vwy generously to an appeal during 2023 to
review their freewill <x)ntributions,' on average people irmxeased giving by 14%.
General infiation and increasir¥J utilty (x)sts have signifKanty impa(*ed expenditure. Vkfjth
ageiNJ buildings. it is antiCiP3ted that major repai￿ will become nmye frequent and more
expensive.

Overall. on unrestrided furKJs, there was a deficit of almost £7.000 in 2023124. The
Trustees and Churth members conts'nue explcKe fea&bility of making greater use of the
premises and thus KK*easing the irKyJme gerwate.
This may require some
modifications to the ￿1￿JIngS.
The Church's restrM*ed funds fall into 4 (*twies:
The Church manages ts payroll for 3 exlemal (tharities- ts salaries are reim1￿rSed
by the extemal chanlyes so ￿ receitts sa* payments a￿ restrKxed.
The Church manages grants received frc*n The Charity of Richard Belcher ts work
asxKiated with the Toddler Group (a parent & t￿￿ler group) and the Evergreen Club
(8 dub for the eklerly)
The grants *pre given s￿i￿alty to support these
organisations so these fijnds are restri￿￿.
The Church handles dcmations to charites from members of the c(x¥Jregati(n and
restricted.
There are furth held in investm&ts relating lo t*￿ SFwirvJ Road Trust and related
funds. These are funds. weviousty I￿ld by the URC. the income from
the funds can ￿[rentlY be us&J. so they are ￿triCted.
