Governing Document
The church is a registered charity. For the year ending 30 September 2015 the church was
governed by a CHURCH CONSTITUTION which was adopted on 13th May 2012.
Registered Charity status was granted on 16th August 2012 under the registration number

MANAGING TRUSTEES
- The Managing Trustees of the Church are the Pastors and elders and any number of
deacons, committee members appointed in accordance with the Church Rules provided that a person may not be appointed as a Managing Trustee if he is
disqualified from being a trustee of any charity under Section 178 of the Charities
Act 2011 (as explained in Schedule 3) or any statutory extension, modification, amendment or re-enactment of that statute or under any regulations or orders made under it unless such disqualification has been waived by the Charity
Commission. There shall be not less than 3 Managing Trustees.
- Whenever a new Managing Trustee is appointed he/she shall be provided with a
copy of: -

(a) The latest annual report and accounts of the Church.

(b) The Constitution and Church Rules.
Risk Management
A safeguarding officer has been appointed by Asian Calvary church. There has been an
update to the Safeguarding policy to ensure adherence to all relevant legislation. Asian
Calvary Church is a member of CCPAS for the purposes of carrying out DBS checks against all
volunteer staff that work with children or vulnerable people. Asian Calvary Church has
Insurance policies with Ansvar Insurance covering:

Objectives and Activities:
The advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the basis of faith primarily but
not exclusively within the West Midlands area and the surrounding areas and such other
charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the managing Trustees further the work of the
church.
Summary of Main Activities undertaken for Public Benefit
The Church has given due consideration to the Charity Commission's general guidance on
public benefit and the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of
religion. The church promotes the Christian faith which leads to radical changes
for the better in the lives of those who embrace it. These changes are evident in the attitude
of church members who seek to conduct themselves as citizens, employees, parents and
neighbours in their communities.
Achievements and Performance
International Report
Asian Calvary Church supports several branches in India, these are funded by donations collected in
the UK for £680 per month.
Conventions
Asian Calvary Church regularly has International and National Guest Speakers with the
express purpose of promoting the objectives of the church.
Sunday school
Asian Calvary Church operates a Sunday school for children. The class is attended by
between 30 – 40 children where the children are encouraged to sing, learn about the bible
and other Christ based educational activities. The Sunday school has 6 teachers which fall
within the safeguarding ratio and the teachers have valid DBS checks. Asian Calvary Church
has an annual subscription that automatically renews CRB as and when required. Sunday
School was only operational during periods when the Church was open.

Youth
Asian Calvary Youth is attended by 15 - 20 young people, there are two youth leaders. The
youth meetings actively encourage Gospel Singing and the learning and playing of musical
instruments. The church is actively engaging with the local youth in order to develop them
into moral upstanding citizens.
Evangelism
Asian Calvary Church actively promotes evangelism. Outreach events are held in the
summer month during clement weather. A group of the congregation engage with the local
community and raise awareness of church activities through one-to-one interaction as well
as the distribution of Christian based literature.
Main Services
Monday: Ladies fellowship meeting is organized by Sister Joshphine Mattu with 10-15 ladies every week in Wolverhampton.
Tuesday: Rev Dr Ashok Masih Mattu hold a Prayer meeting with an attendance of over 20 people via Zoom Video Conferencing.
Wednesday: Home fellowship meeting conducted by Rev Dr Ashok Maish Mattu with different families every week with 15-20 church members.
Thursday: Rev. Dr Isaac Masih Mattu holds a Bible study in Beeches Road with the attendance of 2030 people.
Sunday: Rev Dr Isaac Masih Mattu a lead weekly Sunday meeting in Beeches Road attended by over 50 people. Praise and Worship is conducted in English & Various Asian languages. The service itself is conducted in English & is translated into the prevalent Asian language within the congregation on that day.
Rev Dr Ashok Masih and Rev Dr Isaac Masih Mattu lead weekly Sunday meetings in Wolverhampton attended by over 100 people. Praise and Worship is conducted in English & Various Asian languages, it is led by Mr Shamsher Sidhu. The service itself is conducted in English & is translated into the prevalent Asian language within the congregation on that day.
