The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2024.
The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Praclice (SORP)
"Accounting and Reporting by Charilies" issued in March 2005 in preparing the annual report
and financial statements of the charity.
Structure. governance and management
The trustees will be the persons who are the members from time to time of the Hillsborough
Trinity Methodist Church Council, acting in accordance with their normal pr0￿dUreS.
Appointment of trustees
The trustees must give to each new trustee, on their first appointment..
a copy of the governing document of the charity, including any amendments made to it.,
a copy of the charity's latest report and statement of accounts.
Objectives and activities
The objects of the charity is to further the religious or other charitable work of the Methodist
Church within the Circuit, with preference to the work cairied out at, and through, the Church. In
Furtherance of the object. but without limitation, the trustees my..
support work directed towards the advancement of the Christian faith among young childrena
nd young people,. and
Provide financial or other assistance to person in need (with preference to persons who attend
Hillsbrough Trinity Methodist Church)., and
provide financial assistance to Hillsbrough Methodist Church to maintain and repair its
premises.

Trustees responsibilitles for the financial statements
ChiArity law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each
financial period which show the state of affairs of the charity and of net income or
expenditure of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statements,

reasonable steps for the prevention of fraud and other irregularities.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examlnor
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts, The charity's
trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144{21 of the
Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to=
O examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 A¢t'.
Ei to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145 (51(b) of the 2011 Act- and
E] to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of Independent examinevs report
My examination.was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the
Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also
includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking
explanations from you as trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provide all kne evidence that would be required in an audit and
consequently no opinion is given as lo whethei the accounts present a 'true dnd fair
view, and the report is limited lo those rnatters set out in the slalemenl below.
