During the period1st November2019 and 31st October2020 we were againable to awardamountsto Tywyn Baptist Church

## `Report of the Trustees`

## **`ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE`**

## **`Charitable activities`**

```
Clearly the events taking place after March '20 have had a significant impact on the way we have been able to operate.
```

```
The periodof Nov '19to Oct'20,whilsthavingmanyobstaclesto overcomehas not beenwithoutits successes.Much regular
youth & children'swork was possiblebeforeMarch'20;indeed,one of the Clubswe help to resourcewon a regionalaward in
February '20 for its contribution within the community.
```

```
ThefundingawardedtotheChildren'sandFamilyWorkerhasseenmanyfamilieswhowouldotherwisehave struggled,
receivesupportand assistanceat a time when it was most needed,and ongoingcontactwith all ages of childrenand youth has
helped maintain a sense of well-being throughout an otherwise particularly challenging time for them all.
```

```
Obviously,thishasbeenaverydifferentyearworkingwiththeyoungpeople.Notbeingabletorunourusualyouth groups
and events has been very difficult, but we have tried hard to keep contact and encourage our young people as best as we can.
```

## **`Activities & Events - all ages`**

```
A few thingsthat we have done over the pandemicis send out lettersand packagesto the youngeryouth.We have done this a
few times. Some things that we have includedin the packageshave been things like arts and crafts,chocolates,and bible  verses
and some books/booklets with Christian messages in.
```

```
OverthesummerwealsomanagedtoseeafewoftheyoungpeopleupatMin-Y-Don.WehadafewBBQswiththe older
saw a few of the young people when their families came up for some of the activity days that Min-Y-Don were running.
```

```
Sincethebeginningofthefirstlockdown,wehavealsobeenhavingZoomsessionswiththeOYES!ExtraTimegroupon a
fairly regular basis and we have been looking at some of the pick and mix zoom sessions that are on the Energize website.
```

## **`Mexico`**

```
DuetothepandemicwewereunabletogoonourtriptoMexicowiththeyoungpeople.Unfortunately,thetriphas also
been cancelledfor 2021.The Charityhas donated£5,000towardsthis trip.Not beingable to go was incredibly disappointing
for the youngpeopleas theyhad put in such an enormouseffortto raisemoneyto be ableto go. The grantthe Charity made
towardsthistripwasrepaidby TywynBaptistChurchin November2020.We havebeenableto put almostall of that money
back into youth funds and are hoping to be able to use it for future summer camps and hopefully towards a trip in the future.
```

## **`Sunday morning youth group sessions`**

## **`Junior Church 9-11's Sunday School Group`**

```
Apartfroma few regularSundaymorningsessionsat the verystartof the year,the remainderof the time has been carried out
withremotelearning.Clearlythishasbeenexceedinglydifficultforthosefromthegroupastheywouldmuchrathermeet in
person.
```

```
Wehaveendeavouredtostayintouchasmuchaswecanwiththosefromthegroup.Tobeginwithweprepared and
Since then, we have maintained contact in other ways and include these youngsters in mailings that we send out regularly.
## **`Older Youth Sunday School Group`**
```
ThisgroupisthesamepeopleasformtheOYES!ExtraTimegroupandasyoucanreadinthemainYouthReport,we have
stayed in touch mainly through Zoom sessions on Sunday evenings.
```
```
Thesehavebeen quite productivebut, likeall other groups,especiallyyouthgroups,so much hingeson building relationships
through spending time together.

```
## **`Toddler and pre-school groups`**
```
A relativelynew featureof the work of the Trust is to supportand help run groups set up for parentsto bring along pre-school
children.Asmentioned,previouslywehaveagreedtohelpprovidefundingforaFamily'sworkertoworkforalocal church,
providingactivities,eventsandsupportforparents.FromNovemberuntilthemiddleofMarchtheseactivitieswereable to
take place normally.
```
```
This involved three groups: A Toddler Group; a Baby-club for parents with new-borns; and a Toddler singing group.
```
```
TheseactivitiesarerununderthebannerofTywynBaptistChurchbutwithMinyDonStaffsupportedbyfundsfrom the
Trust providing additional & essential staffing.
```
```
We see an enormousbenefitin being able to serve whole families.Many of the familiesthat can be welcomedand caredfor as
partofthechurch,whenbringingtheirveryyoungchildren,willalsocontinuetohavetheirchildreninvolvedwithyouth &
children's work events when they are older.
```
```
This way we can get to know & serve more families in the locality.
```
## **`Pastoral care`**
```
Key to the effectivenessof any youth work is the abilityto providepastoralcareto the youngpeoplewhen necessary.This care

## **`Investment performance`**

relatively predictable income by way of dividends. This year this objective was realised.
```
## **`Internal and external factors`**
```
We are able to measure the performance of the charity and consider its activities a success if:
```
```
1. There have been a number of programmes run for children, young people and adults which have been well attended.
```
```
2. Overt opportunities have been created for young people to seek advice and support.

```
## **`Principal funding sources`**
```
The charities income from the year primarily came from three sources:
```
`1. Regular giving from supporters`
`2. One off donations`
`3. Dividends from the shares in Henry Boot plc.`
```

## **`FINANCIAL REVIEW`**

## **`Reserves policy`**

```
The reservesthat we haveset asideprovidefinancialstabilityand the meansfor the developmentof our principalactivity. We
intend to maintain our reserves at a level which is at least equivalent to £5,000 in our bank current account.
```

```
The trustees intend to use the reserves in the following manner:
```

- `a. To meet payment deadlines for youthwork services`

- `b. To honour any bursary authorised`

- `c. To meet any payment deadlines for administrative or accounting fees.`

```
The Trusteesreviewregularlythe amount of reservesthat are requiredto ensure that they are adequateto fulfilour  continuing
obligations.
```

```
None of the charities funds are restricted.
```

## **`Going concern`**

```
There are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.
## **`FUTURE PLANS`**
## **`Youth and children's work`**
```
At the time of writing, we are still waiting for clearance to resume children & youth activities.
```
```
Ina similarfashionto somesessionswe ranat Miny Don in betweenlockdownsin 2020,we imaginethatoutdoor meetings
are the right startingpoint. This would appearto be the best way to get going again.These sessionsmay have to be for younger
childrento begin with and then, as staffingimprovesextendthis through the other age ranges.Many of our regular volunteers
are away from the area at the moment.
```
```
Once we can meet indoorsagain,we can look to resume regularmeetings.We estimatethat this will be in Septemberafter the
summer break.
```
## **`Summer Camp`**
```
Thisisusuallyamainfeatureofouryear,butwehaveseennoadvertisingforChristiancampsanywhereforthis coming
