provisions of Accounting and Rèp()rting by Charities.. Statèment of Recommended P18¢1ice applicable lo charities
preparillg their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicab￿ in the UK and RéputAic of
Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20191.
Objectlves and activities
Objectives and aims
The ObjeCt￿eS of the charity are to establish and maintain a museum and art gallery for th6 bènefit of the public and lo
advance education in the arts.
Public benefit
The trustees h8ve complied wth their duty to have due regard to the guidance on pulli¢ benefit published by the Charity
Commission.
The mvsèum is open for public access for a minimum of 6 days a week Including weekends and has an admission
charge with concessions for families with children, children, students and seniors. An initial concession arrangetnenl
which favoured Worcestershire residents and families from the areas of high&sl need in the locality was in pla￿ up to 31
March 2014.
The museum offers outreach and on-site programmes to 8chools and other int8r8sted groups 8nd makes every effort to
be fully inclusive and work with childrèn and young people from 8Feas of highest need lo raise aw8reness, confidenc8
and ambition
Volunteers
The Trusteès are continualty grateful to the many volunteers who 8UPPOrt ihe Musèum in various ways throughout the
year.
Strategic report
Achievement and perforniance
Charitable actlviti•s
The museutn opened lo the public on 7 September 2013. The building was renovated in a year-long project and
displays a selection of objects and work$ of art from Oxford's Ashmolean Museum and from the local cornmunity of
Broadway, Worcesletshire. There is a shop within the museum th81 provides an additional income stream.
The project has been made possible through the generosity of H W Keil Limited, owner of the building which granted
Tudor House a ltsng-tetrn lease. The projèct also received lead support from wOr￿sLerShi1e County C¢uncil wilh a grant
of £200,000.
In September 2D17 the Museum changed ils public name to Broadw8y Museum an¢J Art Gallery to reflect its posib'on and
strengthen its ties with the local community.
Fundraising activltlos
The Museum organises Lwsional fundraising activities with the aim of increasing 8wareness of the Museum, Taising
funds for it and involving the local community.
Financial revi•w
Financial posltlon
Having appointed a full time Dir6¢tor lo the Museum, Anona van Lawick, at the end of Febnjary 2022 it was planned that
we would invest some of the reserves lo help grow and develop the Museum ils offering. The strategy that has been
developed is to lake the Museum to 2025 and to help make il more sustainable and a benefit to 811.
During the period we held 2 major fundraising events.. a lunth held 8t The Lygon Arms in Broadway and a stall providing
hol drinks and museum gifts at the Broadway Evening ChristFnas Shopping Th85e evenls were not only successful in
raising the profilè of the Museum but in raising funds.
In addition the series of talks has continued using presentatsons
in the Museum that were also available on line and have been very succe55ful.
The overall financial position was aided by Grants 8nd by generous donations from Frtends, Patrons and Benefactors.
Reserves pollcy
The Trustees are looking to maintain CA$h reseNes equThi8lènt lo 6 months expènditure to enable the maintenance of the
Museum operations.

Going concem
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concem basis. The Trustees have reviewed and Considered
relevant infom)ation. including the annual budget and future cash flows in making their assessment. In particular, tho
TnJstée$ have tested their cash flow analysis to take into account the impa¢t on their business of various possible
scenarios, alongside the measure5 that they can take to mitigate many impacts. Based on these assessments, given the
measures that could be undertaken to mitigate the current adverse conditions. and the current resources available, the
Tnjstees have conduded that they can continue lo adopt the going concem basis in preparing the annual report and
8ccounts.

Governing docum•nt
Thè charity is controlled by its goveming document. a deed of trust. and constitutes a limited company, litnited by
guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006.
Recrultm•ntand appointmant of new trustees
The recruitment of new trustees is at the discretion of the existing trustees.
Induction and training of new trustees
The induction and training of new trustees is at the discretion of the exisb.ng trustees. The Trustee$ Serve for a period of
three years and can stand foi r8-ele¢tion at the Annual General Meets'ng The Trustees retiring by rotation 8t the Annual
General Meeting are J H Painter, M A Roge15 and J H Noott. J H Painter and M A Rogers ale standing for re-election
and S White is standsng for election having been appointed to fill a casual vacancy during the per*od.
Related parties
There were no related party transactions during the peri¢xl. In the year ended 31 Mafch 2023 the Charity recewed
p3yro11 support for £109 from Haines Watts Worcester Limited a business that John Painter, a Tiustee, was formerfy 8
Diieclor until 31 Marth 2021.

Basis of preparfng the financial ststsments
The financial statements of the charitable company. which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been
prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'A￿OUntIng and Reporting by Charities.. Slalement
of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20191,, Financial
Reporting Standard 102 'Thè Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the
Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost o)nvention.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has enlillement to the fvnds, it is
probable that the income will be re￿Ived and the amount Can be rneasured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilitiès are recognis8d as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the
charty to that expenditure, it is probable that 8 transfer Of economic benefits will be required in settlement and
the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on 8n accruals basis and
has been classified under htradings that aggregalg all cost related to the category. lthere costs cannot be
directly attributed lo particular headings they have be8n allocated to actwities on a basis consistent with the use
of resources.
