Objectives The Ollie Young Foundation has trmo central objectives, as follows= To provide funds to support research into the diagnosis, causes, trealment and care of Paediatric Glioblastoma Muhiforme and to publish the useful results of such research- and The relief of sickness and mental and emotional distress of children and their families coping wqth life threatening conditions by the provision of grants andlor equipment to support organisations such as hospitals and hospices as the trustees think fit. During the year the fvnd continued to raise money which was used as outlined below in direct support of its stated objectives. Review of thè year During the year we were delighted to receive a very significant legacy donation of £80,000 for which the Trustees are hugely grateful. This was supplemented by other donations and increased fundraising activity resulting in total income for the year of a little over £120,000, significant increase on the previous year. The Trustees are extremety gratefvl to the many supporters who have contributed to our fundraising efforts in various ways over the past few years and those who continued to support us via donations. We were delighted lo make a payment of a further £58,079 during the year to the Institute of Cancer. followtng the £85,000 grants made across each of the previous tsvo year5. This grant is to support research into paedialric brain tumours, in line wqth one of central objectives, and is an exciting partnership following the Foundation's research funding in previous years. The trustees are excited by the potential of this research and look forward to reporting on its progress. Overall. following Iwo years of net deficits. we are pleased to report a suiplus for the financial year of £53.671 12022: defiat of £57,444). Ros8r¥es policy Surplus funds Ireservesl are retained lo enable the charity to continue future activities in line with the objectives outlined above. Responsibilities and basis of report As the chartty's trustees you are responslble for the preparatfon of the accounts In accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (Xhe Act'i. I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5}Ib) of the Act.
