Unforeseen construction related i55ve5 delayed the reopening of the theatre an(1 a15Q ifflpacted the capital budget. These issues 51emmed from unforeseen problems in converting part5 of the burlding. whose orrginal labtic date5 back over I￿ years. and dealing with aspects of subsequent alterations and modification5 that are no longer fit for purpose Tn public bulldings. A prime example is the extensive use of asbèstC*S in constfuclion in the last centufy and the need to upgrade fire safety measurès such as fire resisiant door5 throughout the buildbn8.
