among people

To assist in the treatment and care of persons suffering
from mental or physical illness of any description or in
need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness, by the
provision of facilities for work and recreation.

The prevention or relief of poverty by providing grants,
items and services to individuals in need and/ or charities
or other organisations working to prevent or relieve
poverty.

public benefit in relation to
these objectives
In planning our activities for the year, we kept in mind the Charity
Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustee meetings.
The focus of our activities remains:
Providing grants or items to individuals who are suffering
from either mental or physical illness. These donations
are intended to help in the treatment, support or
rehabilitation from the illness. The support includes both
the individuals and their families. Donations of a similar
nature will also be offered to other charities who adopt
supporting objects, thus providing help in larger projects.
These types of activities can improve the provision to, for
example, a children’s hospice which helps the individual,
their families and the NHS; relieving pressure on the
health service.
Funding of projects which work towards the prevention
and relief of poverty. This will include the support of
individuals who will work on such projects and/or
providing materials required to complete the task.
Improving the provision of education in an impoverished
area can be a public benefit by enhancing the ability of
the local community to develop a sustainable community;
thus reducing poverty in the future.
Additional information In addition to the voluntary time provided by the trustees the
charity also has additional volunteers who help with the larger
fundraising activities. Without this valuable contribution, we
would not be able to raise as much money to use in our main
activities.

Achievements and performance

main achievements
of the charity during
the year		 Fundraising:Due to Covid- 19 a couple of open-air events occurred to
raise money; although the trustees found it prudent not to hold the big
indoor event that normally raises the most amount of money.
Activities: In line with the previous statement, the trustees focused on
finding suitable individuals to support events. However, due to covid,
this was limited this year to an open-air music festival and golfing day.
Donations:Donations continued to support local charities requiring
additional help and individual children needing help to establish a better
quality of life.
This year's main support was mobility devices to support children – this
was easy to manage with the limited contact throughout the year.
The above are just a few of the donations the charity has completed

All donations were made with the commission’s public benefit
requirement in mind. All donations either helped to relieve the NHS
pressure and/or helped individuals develop new skills or abilities, which
will contribute to the local community in the future.
Covid-19 issues 2021 22:While the committee sensibly reduced their
fundraising effort during this year; however they have been planning
fundraising events that will follow the following financial year 2022 23 –
including a golfing event and the big Shelby Doo will be back.

activity, this amount is maintained in the reserve account. This is to
ensure that the upfront expense can be covered before ticket sales
occur.

Our main source of funding this year has been from a music festival and
outdoor golfing event. We rely on the local community for their
continuing support and on other local charities to engage in
partnerships for larger projects.
The majority of the income typically goes to support grants and items
required by other charities or individuals and to cover the cost of the
fundraising activities. We have no overheads or staff costs.
