Once again, we published our annual Ramadan Bullethi, offerSng guidance,
inspfiratlon, and Informatlon to help the community rnake the most of the holy
month. The bulletfin included articles on fastingi prayer, and communlty

Every nlght, the mas5ld hosted Taraweeh prayers led by a team of Huffaz.The
complete recitation of the Qur'an was finished by the 29th nlght of
RamadanAverage nightly attendance ￿ceeded 300 worshippers, wlth strong
particlpatlon from both brothers and sisters.
Manarat Foundatlon provldes I'tlkaf facilities for local Musllms during the last io
days of Ramadan. Thfis allows people to stay In the masjid overnlght and to
dedicate themselves to personal prayer and recltatlon of the ￿[,an. Thls year, io
new cublcles were installed, improving comfort and prEvary for participants
devoted to prayer and Qur'anlc reflectlon.

Manarat Foundation provlded dafily iftar for 120-150 Indlviduals, and on some
nights, over 200 participants jolned. A communal suhur was held on the 27th night,
attended by more than loo worshippers.Special iftars were hosted for:

Hassan Kolfi spoke about the essential matters of
Fiqh concerning RamadaL Additionallyi Sh. Kazl

Azharl, dellvered an Inslghtful talk that covered the
history of Qurbanl, tracing fits origins back to the
tfimes of prophets Adarn and tbrahfim (AS).
He explalned how their legacy continues to be
honored to the present time and addressed the
relevant Flqhl Issues surroundlng Qurbanl.Chalred
by Shaylth Kazl Belal, the event was attended by
over 50 partlclpants and provlded them wlth
better understanthng of the reasons for thls

Each year, Manarat offers comprehensfive tralning for Muslims preparing for the Hajj and
Umrah pilgrimages. This year was no dlfferent, and the Hajj seminar, tltled "How to
Perform Hajji 'Umrah & Ziyara," was delfivered by Shaykh Habibul Gaffar Azharfi and
Shalkh Kazi Belal Hossen. The two scholars ensured that through thls trainkng
partlcipants gained in-depth knowledge and understanding of the rftes and rituals of hajj
and umrah. Over the years, many members of the community have benefited greatly from
thls training? including those who attended this year's trafinlng.

The Azan (call to prayer) Is an audlble alert for the community, temindfing them of the
tlme of prayer. Thls Is especially Irn￿rtant because the call ts not openly broadcast In the
UK. A live radlo transmlssion (through a radio scanner) of the Azan and congregational
prayers is delivered at the tfime of each of the five daily prayers.
The radio transmissions also allow for other programmes and events to be broadcast to
the community. During thls year, this service became a much more valued and Important
channel to keep our communlty Infornied of announcernents and events.

Actlvities are held monthly, and this year included:

Marrlage Is a key tenet of the teachlngs of Islam. It Is wlthln thls, that future generations of
Musllms are to be bom and ralsed in. Each year we provide Imams to solenmize the Islarnlc

In addition to Islamlc marrfage, we also perfonn clvll marrlages.
Thls year, we conducted approxlmately 20 Nlkahs, Including facllltatlng 'wallmahs' belng
attended by a small number of partlclpants.

As the only Islamic and communAty centre within the area, this is greatly received by

The Annual Dlnner and Award Ceremony, held on Sunday 8th December 20u at
Manarat premises, was a resoundlng success. More than 400 attendees took part In
the event.
The evening celebrated the achlevements of our madrasa students, volunteers, and
supporters, featuring Qur'anlc recitatfions, group and indAvidual nasheeds, and
Inspiring speeches that hlghlighted the dedication of our young partficlpants.
A key highlight was the award ceremony, where outstsnding madrasah students were
recognised for their academic and extracurricular achfievements. Medals, certificates,
and prizes were presented to students for exceptional perfonnance.
We were honored to have dlstinguished guests, including Shaikh Abdul Qayyum, Chlef
Imam of Fast tnndon Mosque iL)ndon, who spoke on the importance of Islamlc
education, and Shaykh Qari Obalda Muafaq, who graced the event with hls Qur'anlc
recitatlons.

The annual day ttlpi in the school summer holidays, is a highlight of our social calendar.
Thls year we organised a family trip to Dovedale. The aim Is to strengthen the bonds of
brotherhood and unfity Within our community. fftr loo participants, including families
and frlendsl jolned the trip, traveling in two coaches. It was a memorable day filled with
joyk celebration, and with new connections being made the bonds between us are
Increasing. The positive feedback received from everyone talang part has been incredibly

The growth of Islam contlnues apace, and vAth each passing day more Indfividuals are
embracing Islam. We provAde a range of support for our new Muslim brothers and slsters.

This year during the wfinter school holidaysi we organised the "Fajr Knight
Challenge" to encourage our young people and children to joln the congregatlon
for Fajr prayer. The programme was carefully designed: a short remlnder after the
prayer, followed by a sports activfity and concluded with a wholesome breakfast.
More than 35 children partficfipated In the challenge, embracing the opportunity to
build good habits and strengthen their fatth. On the final morning, each of the

The evenlng concluded with a Seerah Quiz Competition, where partlclpants
enthusiastically showcased their knowledge, and cash prlzes were awarded to
the winners. The atrnosphere was fllled with learningp insplration, and a
renewed love for the Prophet (SAW).

Shaykh Yousuf Zaman, Shaikh Muhammad Waqar, Professor lthandaker Kablr
Uddln, Shelkh Kazfi Bllal, and Shellth Shahldullah Azharl. Each speaker delivered
Insplring and Insightful presentations, enriching the audience wffith profound
knowledge and practlcal gufidance.
The event drew a large and diverse audlence, creating an atmosphere of Ilvely
dlscussion and Intellectual engagement. One of the hfighllghts of the day was the
enthuslastlc partlclpatfion of young attendees In a serfies of competitive actlvities,
including a quiz, Qur'anic recitation (Tilawah), and speech competitlons. These
events not only showcased the remarkable talents of the younger generatlon but

Every Ramadan, Manarat hosts a special Youth Iftar, bringing young members of

Manarat recently hosted a series of educational visits from Olton Primary School.
The putpose of these visits was to provide pupils wlth an opportunity to galn an
Anfonned understanding of Islam and the experiences of Muslims living in the
United Kingdom.
During the programme, puplls learned about the fundamental belfiefs and practices
of Islam and were encouraged to ask questions to enhance theAr understanding.
The visits also included a guided tour of the mosque, where many non-muslim
students were able to obsetve the environment of worship and learn about its
significance wlthin the Muslim community.

Manarat Foundation launched a scheme to help needy people across the globe In
parmership with other mainstream UK charities. Alhamdulillah, in this reportlng year
we have ralsed funds to support humanitarian rellef following floods in Bangladesh
and Pakistan as well as earthquakes fin Afghanfistan and Turkey. We have helped the
wider community in partnership with Islamlc rellef, UKIM, and Action for Humanlty.

Following this, the Treasurer presented
the proposed budget for the upcoming
year, outlfining financlal priorltles and

expenditures, and the Foundatlon's overall
flnanclal posfitlon.
Attendees were invited to ask questlons
and share feedback regarding the fmancial
and operational reports. The open forum
encouraged construetfive dlscussfion and
relnforced the Foundation's commltment

deslgned to educate chlldren about Islam In a fun and engaglng envlronment. We
created a comprehensfive currficulum for thls intenslve program, alming to provfide a

Approximately 22 students participated trA the camp• and based on their feedback, they
found the experlence fun, hlghly beneficlal, galnlng valuable new knowledge durlng

Manarat Academy organlses an annual Hlfzul Qur'an competition to provtde a
platfonn for Manarat students to showcase thelr talents and Insplre them to contlnue
excelling In Hlfz and the recitation of the Qur'an. Thls year, the flnal round of the
comwition took place on Saturday 15" November 2024 and featured three levels of
comwfitfion. A panel of three est￿Med judges-sh. Qari Muddastr Anwar, Sh. Habibul
Gaffar Azharl, and Sh. Kazl Bllal Azharl-provlded valuable feedback and
encouragement. Wlnners from each level were awarded cash prizes totallng over
£1,000.

Manarat Academy has over 200 students between the ages of 4-16. Currently fit provides
daily evenlng and weekend Madrasah (education) classes.
Manarat's evening and weekend Madrasah classes provfide high quality Islamlc
education. Having a thorough understanding and religious grounding enables our
chlldren to be actlve and responsible British citizens whust mafintalnlng thetr Islamfic
fafith. Evenlng classes run Monday-Thursday between 5pm to 7pm. Weekend classes are
between loam to ipm.
Senlor leaders have ensured that safeguardfingi health & safety and flrst ald qualified
teacher5 are part of the teaching staff.
In order to achieve its educational goals, Manarat has developed a well-structured
syllabus and currlculum, which is taught by a hlghly educated child frfendly team. All
teaching staff are DBS checked. Qualified female teachers deliver the lessons for the girl's
classes.
Children are taught, Qur'an recitation with tajweed, Hifzul Qur'an (selected Suras and
verses), Selected Hadith (memorisation with meanlng), Seerah of the Prophet (PBUH),
Basic Aqaid, Masnoon du'aas (with meanlng) and, Daily Fiqh (Islamtc Jurisprudence).
Assemblies are held monthlyi and students have also taken part in intei-madrasah
Islamic cOmpeti￿ons.

Manarat provides an Arabic language course for chlldren, alming to familtarize them with
the language of Islam and foster a better understandlng of the Qur'an and Deen. Thts

As part of Its annual educational tradition, Manarat organised a trip for students to
explore the rich Muslim hfistory and cultural herltage of the Unlted Klngdom. This
year's visit was to the hlstorfc tKJndon Central Mosque and Islamlc Cultural Centre.
Students were glven a gulded tour led by a knowledgeable host, who provided
valuable insights Into the mosque's unlque archltectural deslgn and Its fimportant
role in the development of Islarn In Brltaln. The group also had the opportunlty to
visit the Exhlbltlon Centre and the library, where they leamed more about the
contrlbutlons of Muslims to British society and the long-sLanding heritage of the
Islamic communlty In the UK.Overall, the trip was both educational and insplrlng,
offering students a deeper appreciation of Islamic history• culture, and its lasting
Influence In Brltaln. With over 70 participants, the trip also included a visit to the
Islamfic Exhibitlon and Art Gallery at Mosque Llbrary, where students had the
opportunity to engage with fascinating exhfiblts. The trip was a memorable and
enrlchlng experience for both students and teachers, offering valuable insights
Into the contributions of Muslims to British history and culture.

programrne, designed to meet the growing demand for Islamic education and
produce qualified scholars. Our inaugural cohort consfists of seven dedlcated
students who are systematlcally studying the religion of Allah under the guidance of
our hlghly qualffied teachers. Wlth a vtslon to senve the communlty, we atm to
expand the Alimiyyah programme in the futurep providing more students the
opportunlty to pursue this noble path of knowledge.
Weekly Tafsirul Qu'ran
Manarat's scholars have dedicated time to provlde Tafslr (interpretatfion) In Engllsh
every Sunday after Zuhr salah. Thls session is delfivered by Shallth Ubaid Ullah
Shameem and around 20 brothers & sisters attend the sessfion regularly.
Weekly Dars al Hadith
To understand the Qur'anlc message> It Is equally Important to understand the hadlth and
Sunnah of the prophet (SAW). Dars al Hadlth in Engltsh Is another Important programme
that has been regularly delivered by our scholars every Saturday after Zuhr Salah. Shafikh

The financial statements have been prepared In accordance wtth Accounting and
Reportlng by Charltles: Statement of Recommended Practlce applicable to charities
preparlng thetr accounts ln accoidance wlth the Flnancial Reporting Standard
appllcable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2015)
(Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable In the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). They also cornply with the Companies Act 2006 and
Charities Act 20U.

Basis of Preparation
Manarat Foundatlon meets the definitlon of a publlc beneflt endty under FRS 102.
Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historfical cost or transaction value
unless otheThvise stated In the relevant accounting policy notes.
Going Concern
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charlty's
ability to continue as a going concern nor any Si￿2f1Cant areas of uncertalnty that
affect the canying value of assets held by the charlty.
Income and Endowments
All Income ts recO￿sed once the chartty has entitlement to the Income, It fis probable
that the fineome will be received and the amount of the income recelvable can be
measured reliably.
Donations and Legacies
Donatlons are recognised when the charlty has been notified kn wrfting of both the
amount and settlement date. In the event that a donation Is subject to conditions that
requlre a level of perfornh3nce by the charity before the charlty Is entltled to the funds,
the Income ts deferred and not recognised untll either those condltlons are fully met,
or the fulfilment of those condltlons ts wholly within the control of the charfty and It ts
probable that these conditions wfill be fulfllled in the reportlng period.
Expenditure
All expendlture is recognised On￿ there Is a legal or constructive obligation to that
expenditure, It is probable settlement is requtred and the amount can be measured
rellably. All costs are allocated to the applicable expenthture headfing that aggregate
slrnllar costs to that category. Where costs cannot be directly attrlbuted to particular
headings they have been allocated on a basls consistent with the use of resources, with
centtal staff costs allocated on the basts of time spent, and depreclatlon charges
allocated on the portion of the asset's use. Other support costs are allocated based on the
spread of staff costs.

Raising Funds
These are costs incurred In attracthig voluntary Income, the management of
Investments and those incurred in trading activities that raise funds.
Charitable Activities
Charitable expendtture comprtses those costs Incurred by the charlty in the delivery of
its actlvlties and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be
allocated dlrectly to such artlvitles and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to
support thenL
Support Costs
Support costs Include central functions and have been allocated to aC￿vIty Cost
categories on a basis consistent with the use of resources, for example, allocating
property costs by floor areas, or per capita, staff costs by the time sperlt and other
costs by their usage.
Governance Costs
These Include the costs attrlbutable to the charlty's compllance wlth constltutional
and ststutory requirements, including audit, strateglc management and trustees's
meetings and reimbursed expenses.
Taxation
The charlty Is considered to pass the tests set out In Paragraph i Schedule 6 of the
Finance Act 2010 and therefore it meets the definition of a charitable cornpany for UK
corporation tsx purposes. Accordinglyi the charity is potentially exempt from taxation
In respect of income or capltal galns recelved within categories covered by Chapter 3
Part li of the Corporatlon Tax Act 2010 or Section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable
Galns Act 1992, to the extent that such income or galns are applied exclusively to
charfitable purposes.

Tangible Fixed Assets
Individual fixed assets costlng £500.00 or rnore are finitlally recorded at cost, less any
subsequent accumulated depreciation and subsequent accumulated impaiment losses.
Depreciation and Amortisation
Depreciation is provided on tanglble fixed assets so as to wrlte off the cost or valuation,
less any estimated residual value, over their expected useful economtc life as follows:

Cash and Cash Equivalents
Cash and cash equlvalents comprise cash on hand and call deposlts, and other short-
tenn highly liquld Investments that are readlty convertible to a known amount of cash
and are subject to an Inslgnlficant risk of change In value.
Trade Creditors
Trade credltors are oblfigatlons to pay for goods or se￿IceS that have been acqutred tn
the ordinary course of buslness from suppliers. Accounts payable are classlfied as
current liabilities if the charity does not have an uncondltional right, at the end of the
reporting period, to defer settlement of the creditor for at least twelve months after the
reporting date. If there is an unconditional right to defer settlement for at least twelve
months after the reporting date, they are presented as non-current liabilities.
Trade credltors are recogntsed initially at the transaction prlce and subsequently
measured at arnortised cost using the effective interest method.

Borrowings
Interest-bearing borrowlngs are Inltlally recorded at falr value, net of transaction
costs. Interest-bearlng bo￿OWIngS are subsequently carried at amortised cost, with
the dlfference between the proceeds, net of ttansactlon costs, and the amount due on
redemption being recO￿lSed as a charge to the Statement of Flnancial Activities over
the perlod of the relevant borrowing.
Interest expense is recognised on the basis of the effectlve Interest method and ts
5ncluded in interest payable and slmilar charges.
Borrowfings are classffied as current Ilabllitles unless the charity has an unconditional
right to defer settlement of the lfiablllty for at least twelve months after the reporting
date.
Fund Structure
Unrestrlcted Income funds are general funds that are avallable for use at the trustees's
dlscretion in furtherance of the objectives of the charity.
Restricted income funds are those donated for use in a particular area or for specific
purposes, the use of whlch Is restricted to that area or purpose.
