has 9 Directors￿rUstee$, 5 lull lime empknyees. and a further 22 part-lirne employees16.9ft81.
Ow long-standing Iruslee and fomer Cttair Geoff Le Pard stood down Ihis year after 12 years on
the board and we thank him for his hard work. cornmilment and SUFPOrt for SYCT over many years.
After the pfjri¢￿. Miranda Bevan stood down as Secretary and trustee after over 12 years on the
t)oard and we thank her also for her many significant contr1butsons lo the charity. Morris Nelson a150
stood down as a ￿$tee after the period and our thanks go to him also. Dan Blake rejoined SYCT
as a Iruslee on 22 July 2025 to support the charity during a perr)d of Iransilion Al the Septembèr
2025 Board meeting Alastair V4almsley Chair and Chris Wilgoss Treasurer slo¢)d down after 8 0fKI
7 year5 resp8ctiv•ly. We thank Ih8m for their guidance and stewardship of the charity. New

SYCT'S board consisted of 7 or 8 irus:ees during the period. The trM)ard meets four limes a yaar by
policy and mor8 often lo work on subgroups or deal with matters arising requiring board involvem8nl.
Vacanciès on the Irust8es' board are adv8rttsed on our own website and social media platforms as
well as on our notice bogr¢s in ow buildings SYCT 15 working with Indusive Boards lo ensure our
Board ol Trustee$ reflecls Ihe communities we Seek lo serve.
SYCT'S Iruslees provide strategic leadership. determine Ihe poI￿leS of Ihe charity and employ staff
lo carry out ils charilable purooses. The Trusle85 are responsible for ensuring that the Incoming
resources are expende¢J lo further thè objectsves ol the charity.
1.3 Manag•m•nt
The Trustees appoint a ch1ef execub've officer (CEO) who rnanag9s the operat￿n of the charity and
reports lo the Truslees al Ihe regular Trust8e meelings
The CEO holds regular management team meetings with key staff and regular lull slaff meetings.
SYCT'S CEO Sylvia fiimslra re*gned and stood down in May 2024 an¢J the board appointed Simon
Dowe as Interim CEO In Ihe same month to addres5 the charity's ongoing susiain8bilily challenges.

2.4.1 Group & Clubs
SYCT provides high quality youth servic8s and facilities lo children, young people. vulnerable adults
and the wider community.
Drop in youth clubs for Streatham residents offer a variety of aclivilies for children and young
People in different age groups. covenng those aged 8 up lo 21. Aclivilies include sport5, pool,
gaming, board games, art and pottery. Separate sports clubs focus on Improwng physi¢al and
mental health. Sesstons indude things like football, taèkwondo, basketball and outdoor adventure
trips.
SYCT also offers a homework chJb for young carers which supports children who care lor
disabled parent or sibling. This provides Ihem with Ihe lime, Space and support they ne8d lo
omplele homework or revision.
The charity offers cooking classes and workshops lo childr8n aged 7 - 16, these fun sessions give
¢hildren vital food prepara1￿n and cooking skills while they learn about nutrit￿n and gel practical,
an4s.on experience
A Young Leade￿ programm8 enables young people to run youth work sessions. gain confKlenc8
and learn Workpla￿ ski115, as well as prov￿ling 8 good exafflp￿ lo younger ¢hildren Involved in
groups and clubs
2.4.2 Employ•bility
SYCT also has a focus on helping young people acfveve their potenlial In life by working on 15s￿e5
around employability. The team supports young people aged 16 - 24 to gel into employment,
education or training. The charity provide5 Inlemew skills. job seareh and applicalion help, supporl
wilh Cvs and Personal Sialemenls as well as access to local jobs apprenliceships and Iraining.
Selling young people cm the right palh and prowding Ihis kind ol initial support allows them lo thrive.
2.4.3 L•arnlng through play
SYCT offers lun. suFer¥ised outdoor adventurous play in a sale settin9, for parents and ￿[erS with
children aged o- 5 years old.
2.4.4 Bright Futures StTe•tham
SYCT has been working In partnership with oiher kncal organisalions Ilnspiralional Youlh. UINCAP
and Sl Michael's Fellow5hyl and schools lo give chIld￿n and young people I￿allY a bright future.
As part of this group. SYCT has offered laekwontjo. baking and homework clubs lo children and
young people, as well as offering a resKlenlial Inp to selected chIld￿n who would m051 benefit. Wè
have also focused on helpin9 some ohjer teens lo becfjme young leaders, devekjping their
confidence. interpersonal Skills. organisation and empathy.

This yeaf we worked with over 1.163 children and young paople across all our 5&rvices. We delivered
total of 281 Youth Club session5, 150 Spor15 sessions. 23 slay and play sessions and 73 Adventu
play session5. lolalling more Ihan 2100 hours of fun and play. In addition, we provided employability
support to 85 youn9 people over the course ol Ihe year, through our Youlh Hub. Bouncg Back and
Unheard Voices programmes.

588 local young people attended our youth clubs.
Our clubs were allendee a lolal of 240 times.
207 children and young people gol active with our sports clubs.
29 young people became Young Leaders. lo encourage and inspire your¥Jer peers.
71 SEND young people got active with sport and soclal activities.
We also hire out spaces lo olher community organisalion in our Conyers Road and wel￿181d Road
buildings.

SYCT r8POrted a deficit of £54.244 for the year ended 30 September 2024, which cornpared 10 8
deficit of £177,611 in the prior year. In(L)me Increased by £55.912 10 £739,695 driven by a £47k
Increase in grants. albeit slill significantly below the level of granl income ￿ceIVed In 2D22, £37k
increase in hirin9 income and £70k ol bequesis12023. £nill. partially offset by decreased income
Irom donations and the tharily shop. as well as a £54k redudion in ir￿orne Irom the nursery. which
wa5 closed during the year due lo onwing losses.
NoNvilhstanding ￿n11n￿ed innalionary preSS￿e8. tsghlened cost conlfol enabled SYCT lo re(Juce
expenditure by £67k lo £849,849. This ￿dUCtion Induded only a part year benefit from c05t
