OBJEcllvES AND ACTivTllES
SFgnlficant actlvltle5
Thls past year, Reachout Community thurch tontlnued to reach both our local community and people overseas wth
prartiC31 expressions of Christian love and support. as well with teaching about the good news of the Christian falth. In
July it was our Pleasu￿ to welcome back two members of our congregation who we are supporting in theii mlnlstry
oversea5. learning about the different needs felt by people in those countries. and how we can help to reach people
far less fortunate than ourselves. We also had some visitors from a churth in Cambodba during July. who shared an
update on the ehurches and pastors that they serve.
aoser to home. and later in the summer we ontè again held a week-long hollday club for chlldren aged between 7
and 11. With a Mount Kilimanjaro theme, children from the village and surroundin8 areas came for a few hours eath
day to leam about thé Proverbs recorded In the Bible, taking part in game5, songs and craft actNlties. On the last dav.
parents and carers were able to come and hear from the children what they had leamed throu6hout the week,
showcasin8 thelr knowledge and crafting creatNity.
In NLwember, RCCI was onte agaln able to support the vSlla8e in Its commemorations for Remembrance Sundav,
provitling use of the bulldlng as a weparatlon area beforehand, and hostin8 some people from the wlla8e for a hot
drink aftetwards.
In the run up to Christmas, Rca wa5 able to enga8e with our local community both wtthin and beyond the thurth
building. In November, a few of us went to Barringers c￿rt, leadlng some of the ￿$(dents In the sSn8Sng of Christmas
Carols, and sharfng the 8ospel message. This abo provSded a 8reat opportunlty for us to 8et to know some more
people from our village a little more. In December. RCCI hosted a sunday evening Carol seNice. tornbining tarol songs
and stripture readings to tell the Christmas st¢yy. As In p￿￿0￿5 yeats, thls provided a 8￿at opportunity for the whole
congregatlon to Come together and brirg their talents in an evenlngthat blesses everyc41e that comes.
We were glad to have opportunltles to come together ￿th other churches In comblned services this past year,
indudlng a baptsm Servi￿ held in November. It's always encoura8ln8 to meet with other Christians, and to be able to
share our facS1ities with congregations that do noi have their own space to host a baptism servi￿.
Towards the end of the year, we put the flnishing touches to our training prcgram for the new small groups mlnlstrles.
These will focus on putting the lessons th* we leam from our Sunday morning study of the biblè into prarti¢e. and we
had some very productive tlmes with the new leaders, many of whom have B￿at experience in rnnning effectivè small
groups. Thls work compllments our gathering together on Sunday tnomings for worship. prayer and the preathin8 of
the word.
Saturday momlng men's aThl wom￿,$ breakf*s conttnued throughout the year and provided an opportunlty for
thurth members. as well as members from other con8re8atlons to meet for Infomal bible study and Christian
fellowshlp. Tuesday and Friday evening prayer meetln8s continue to be held in the chufch building.
