Governing document
The UK and Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumour Society Limited IUKI NETS) is consliluled by ils
MemorandLJm & Articles of Association. adopted by the membership on 7 December 2015, and is
registered charity. UKI NETS became a company limited by guarantee on 13 August 2008 and was
subsequently registered as a charty on 16 July 2012.
Organisatlonal structure
The Soaety ha5 four main categories of membèrship as follows.. Clinician,. Scientist,. Nurse and Allied
Health Professional Members. Each ol these categories is broken down into Career stages. All
members are given the option of membership with or without inclusive ENETS membership.
Membership of the charity is open to any medical professionals or scientists interested in promoting
the objects.
The S¢xiety is governed by four Executive Officers, who are the directors and trustees (Chair, Past
Chair or Chair-elect, Treasurer and Secrelaryl, supported by a wider Executive Committee. which
includes ¢hairs of the sub committees. All Executive Officers and Executive Committee members are
elected by member ballot.
Risk management
The trustees have a duly lo identify and review the r4sks lo which the charity is exposed and to ensure
appropriate controls are In place lo prowde reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

Objectives and activities
The chafity's objects are to promote for the public benefit research. education and clinical practice in
neuroend¢XTine lumours by the organisalion of conferences. training courses and publications, by
raising public awareness. liaison with national and international legislators. and by any other
appropriate means. The Society aims lo improve the diagnosis and therapy of patients with
n$uroendo¢rine lumour5 within a national multidisciplinary and scientific context.

1. To arrange and provido for the holding of meetings, lectures and seminars.
2. To procure lo be written and print. publish, issue and circulate graluilou$ly or othe￿ise such

3. To raise ftjnds and lo invite and receive contributions from any person or persons whatsoever
by way of subscriptions and otherwise provided that the Society shall not undertake any
pemianenl trading activities in raising funds for its primary charitable objed"ves.
4. To Co-operate, associate or affiliate with any other charitable instilulion$.

Achievements and perfonnance
UKI NETS 22nd Annual Conference: Cardlff
The 22n4 Annual Conference of the Society was held al Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardrff on
Monday 2 December 2024.
The programme contained sessions focused on.. Mulli-Disciplinary Challenges in Clinical Practice.,
clinical trials overview,. immunotherapy in patients with high grade NEN5', recent developments in
PRRT", MEN Syndromes and Challenge5', a NET Iransl*ional medicine session and a NET nurses.
session. Posters and oral Communications were presented The conference ended with a Prize Giving
session and a lifetime achievement award was presented during the day. Satellite symposia were
also held by sponsors.

Provlslon of travel grants
Five travel grants were awarded lo the presenleTS of the best scoring abslrads for the conference
(excluding physicians in post more than 5 yearsl. Four were awarded free membership for a year," one
current member was awarded £100.
Provision of meeting awards
Prizes were awarded lo the top thrge best scoring clin￿al and scientific posters and the best oral
comrnunicalion al the 22Thd Annual Conference.
Provision of Research grants
Neuroendocrine Caneer UK INCUKI, in asS￿latiOn with UKINETS, awarded pump priming grants
of £25k each lo provide pumppriming funds lo support research projects designed lo improve
outcomes fo¥ patient$ with neuroendocrine cancer.
Public Engagement
UKI NETS members have been involved with and 5UPPOrting the Neuro&ndocrine Cancer UK
awareness campaign for healthcare professionals, 'Spotlighl on Neuroendocrine Cancer,. developing
NET overviews for those who see NET patients bul are not experts.
Educational actlvltles
NETS for New¢omers'.
On 9th May 2025 UKINETS presented the eighth annual one doy coutse for d¢Xtors and HCPS of all
5peeiallies who wished to learn more about Neuroendocrine Tumours. It was held face to face in
Manchester. The course was delivered by an expert multidisciplinary fa¢ully and Included a 'mock
MDT. practice in small groups. Approximately 34 HCPS attendèd and feedback was very positive. 6
CPD points were awarded lo attendees.
Webinars..
UKINETS continued lo deliver ils series of educational webinars, led by the Education and Training
Committee. Webinars were delivered on NET oncology and theragnostics The webinars are free to
attend for both members and non-members of UKINETS.
Guideline development
The UKINETS Clinical Practice Committee continues lo create clinical guideline documents for its
Bilesi2e Guidance library, available on the UKINETS website. As well as the Creation of new
guidan￿, existing guidance was reviewed and updated.
Dietltlans, Worklng Group
The AHPIDielilian representative on the Executive Committee also chairs the UKINETS Dietitians,
Working Group. The group delivered a teaching session for dielilians and nurses, compiled daia from
UK Centre of Excellence NET centres on dielilian support lor lack ofj for the NET MDT and began
planning a NET nutrition study day for early 2026.
Sponsor Support
There was financial support lo the Society in the form of sponsorship from phamiaceutical and
technology companies with products relevant lo NETS. The majorrty of the funding was provided as
sponsorship for the National Conf9ren￿ and NETS for Newcomers frainin9 Day.

UKI NETS cornmunicales with ils members by means of an e-newsletter delivering news from the
Society and the wider field. In addition, the charity highlights on its website news and research
relating lo the field of neuroendocrine lumours. The charity also has Its own X aceounl @UKINETS.
The Society is in the process of investigating the use of other social ne￿OrkS.
Cllnlcal Trlals and Research Development
UKINETS include5 a summary of recent clinical trials related to NETS on ils websf(e and at it$ annual
scientific conference.
UKINETS has continued lo manage a pw01￿1 lo sel up a national database for NETS lo faciliiale
valuable future research.

UKI NETS Continues to provide optional inclusive membership lo fts members lo its European partner
Society, ENETS. Through membership of ENETS. UKI NETS members have access lo Journal of
Neuroendocrinology and a reduced rate for the ENETS annual conference. A member of UKINETS
sils on the Executive Committee of ENETS.
Financial review
Princlpal fundlng sources
Income lo the Society 1$ mainly generated through industry support, the annual ¢onference and
membership subscriptions. Personal donalionsllegacies are receNed on an ad hoc basis.
Reserves policy
The reserve policy takes into consideration the major risks that Could fa￿ the Society.
It 15 the policy of the Society lo maintain unrestricted funds. which are the free reserves of the charity.
The reserves are held al a level that ensures the financial viability of the Society. That level is
currently deemed lo be one that equates lo a minimum of two years, expenditure. The officers of the
Society will be Teviewing this policy lo ensure it still fil for purpose The balance sheet indicates that
there are £168,917 unreslricled funds as at 31 August 2025. This provides suffi¢ienl funds lo cover
management, administration and support costs.

I report to the charity trustee5 on my examination of the financial statements of UK And Ireland
Neuroendocrine Tumour Society Limited for the year ended 31 August 2025.
Re5pon5ibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees of the company land a150 Its directors for the purposes of company lawl you are
responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Act 21X>61'the 2006 Act.
Having satisfied myself that the financial statements of the Charlty a￿ not required to be audited under Part
16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of
your charity's ftnancial statements as carried out under seetion 145 of the Charities Act 20111.the 2011 Act'l.
In earrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section
145151 Ibl of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner'5 Statement
I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examTrnation giving me cause to believe..
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 386 of the 2006 Act.. or
the financial statements do not accord with those records,. or
the financial statements do not comply with the accounting requirements under section 396 of the 2006
Act other than any requirement that the financial statements give a 'true and fair. view which is not
matter considered as part of an independent examination,. or
the financial statements have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the
Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which
attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial
statements to be reached.

Basis of preparation
The financtal statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities..
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective I
january 20151 Icharities SORP IFRS 10211, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.

There has been no change to the accounting policies Ivaluation rules and method of accounting) since
last year and no changes have been made to accounts for previous years.

Expenditure
Recognition of
expenditure
Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis. Expenditure include5 any VAT which
tannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it
relates.
Expenditure on
These comprise the costs associated with attracting voluntary income, fundraising

charitable activities services in the furtherance of its objects, including the makin8 of grants and
