The Oirettors present their report together with the unaudited financial statements of the Cornpany for the
year ended 31 August 2023.
The org3ni5ation is a charitable Company limited by guarantee. incorporated on 24 Novernber 2011 and registered
with the Charities Commission on 16July 2012. The Company was established under 3 Memor2ndum of
Association which established the object5 and powers of the charitable company and is governed under its
Articles ol Association.
AIMS AND OBJEcfivES

•To actively promote Polish culture through various initiatives including workshops. exhibitions and cultural events that
showcase Polish traditions, art, music and cuisine.
•To collaborate with other cultural organi5ations and cornmunity g¥oups to raise awareness of Polish contributions to British
society and promote intercultural understanding.

•To piovide resources and guidance to teachers. students and parents to enhance the teaching and learning of Polish as an
academic Subject.
Celebrating National Holidays and Traditions..
•To celebrate and raise awareness of Polish national holidays and traditions in Plymouth. organisiThg events and activities
that 5howca5e the rich cultural heritage of Poland and promote cros5-cultural exchange.
•To collaborate with local authorities and community organisations to ensure the indusion of Polish culture in multicultural

PRINCIPAL AUIVITY
The principal activities of the Company in the year under review were the promotion of the objetts for which the Charitv
was formed. to advance education for the public benefit in Polish language. culture. tradition and heritage in particular
within the Polish community.
REVIEW OF BUSINESS
The main focu5 of the charity continue5 to be week-to-week running of the Saturday school. with occasional Social events.
Christma5, farnily fairs. annual trips where we aim to promote the objectives of the charity
REVIEW OF CHARITABLE ACtIVlTIES
Clearobjectives have been set for the charity. Regular meetings are held at which performance mea5ure5 against objectives
are reviewed.
FINANCIAL REVIEW & RESERVES
The net movemertt in the Unrestricted Fund comprises a surplus of £3.665 being the excess of income over expenditure.
The charity does not hold aThy restricted funds.
RISKS
The major risk5 to which the Company is exposed. a5 identified by the Directors. have been reviewed and systems have
been established to rnitigate these ri5k5.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
Future Plan for the Society for the Promotion of Anglo-Polish Culture in Plymouth=
Running Polish Saturday School-.
•Strengthen and expand the Polish Saturday School by offering a wider range of educational activitie5 includTng language
classes. history lesson5, cultural workshops and arts and CTafts 5e55ions.
•Collaborate with local educational institutions to provide professional development opportunities for Polish language
teachers and prornote the inclu5ioTr of Polish language and cukure in the mainstream curriculurn.
Protnoting Polish Traditions and Cultural Events to the Local Community".
•Organise regular cultural events such as Polish music and dance performances. art exhibition5. film screenings and culinary
festivals to showc35e the richness and diversity of Po115h traditions to the wider ￿MMunity in Plymouth.
•Collabor3te with local venues. community centres and cultural organisations to host joint events and promote cros5-
cultural exchange.
•Our school hès developed è plan to offer Polish language leaming Courses for adult English speaker5. catering to the needs
of local residents in Plymouth who are seeking Such a language course.
Becoming a Hub of Supporr for the Polish Community".
•Establish a resource centre to provide information. a(fvice and support services to the Polish community in Plymouth
including assistance with housing, ernployment, healthcare and integration into the local community.
•Facilitate social gatherings, support groups aThd network¢ng opportunities to foster a sense of community among Polish
residents and create a support network for individuals and familie

Supporting the Plymouth-Gdynia City Twinning Panel-.
*Collaborat& c5osely with the Plyrnouth-Gdynia City Twinning Pènel to strengthen cultural, educational and ecoThornic ties
between Plymouth and Gdynia.
•Facilitate exchange programs. cultural visits and joint initiatives to promote understanding and collèboration between the
two aties.
Getting Involved in the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity IGOCQ..
•Participate actively in the annual GOCC charity event which is the largest charitable initiative in Polond.
•Org2nise fundraising activities, events and campaigns in Ptymouth ro support the GOCC'S mission ol providing medical
equipment to hospitals and healthcare institutions in Poland.
Enhancing Organisational Capacity-.
Seek addirional funding and Erant opportunities to support the expansion of activity'es and Services provided by the Societv.
•Develop partnerships wilh local businesse5. philanthropic organisatiorb5 and government bodies to secure sustsinable
funding and resources.
•lnvest in staff training and development to ensure the s(￿lety has the necessaryskills and expertise to fulfil its objectives
effeaively.
By implemenring ihis future plan, the society for the Promotion of Anglo-Polish Culture in Plymouth aims to strengthen
cultural ties. promote Polish traditions and support the Polish community in Plymouth. Through collaboration, education
and community engagement. we aspire to create an inclusive and vibrant cultural landscape that celebrates the
contributions and heritage of the Poli5h-Britlsh comrnunity.
RESERVES
It is the policy of the Directors to maintain a level of reserves suffscient to fund future project5 when the need arises.

to the Trustees of The Society for the Promotion of Anglo-Polish Culture in Plymouth
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 August 2023 which are Set out on pages 7 to 11.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charitys trustees consider that an audit is
not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 20111.the Charities Arfl and that an independent
examination is needed.
It is my responsibility tts=
examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commi55ioners under section
14515llbl of the 2011 Act.. and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions gNen by the Charity Commission. An
examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented
with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and the seeking of
explanations from you as trustee5 concerning any such matter5. The procedure5 undertaken do not provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinton is given as to whether the accounts present a
'true and fair Vie￿ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
