We can inform you that every Charitable act carried out by our Charity is to benefit the public regardless of Religion, Colour, Race or Gender.

Aims and targets:

With your help we have managed to complete many projects in the past few years in various different countries. We hope that with your continued support we can keep these projects going and reach out to people on a bigger scale.

Our belief is that prevention is better than cure, hence we are currently completing an Orphan centre where children will receive shelter, education, health care amongst various other day to day needs. We wish to educate these children and make them independent so that they can enjoy and achieve not only in the present but also in the future.

Structure, Governance and Management Nature of the Governing Document and constitution of the charity

The Charity is a trust and governed by its own trust constitiution. The trustees have overall control and responsibility for policy and major decision making.

Charity Management:

This charity is run by voluntary work, with those involved with the charity giving up their own time to help run the charity as well as having other jobs. We understand the importance in changing people’s lives for the better therefore as humans we must help out others in need without any self-benefit. The charity is organised by a board of trustees who then nominate one of the trustees as a Chairperson, to monitor the day to day running of the charity.

The methods adopted for the recruitment and appointment of new trustees

Other than the Trustees and those persons connected with them there are no individuals who are related parties.

Details of transactions with related parties are shown in the notes to the accounts. This includes remuneration and expenses paid to Trustees.

The three founder Trustees mentioned at the time of declaration of the Trust can appoint new Trustees at the Charity’s Annual General Meeting for a term of 2 years. After this time, the Trustees can decide at the AGM whether to extend their time or not. Any casual vacancy arising during the year is filled by co-option of a person onto the board; that person is then duly elected at the subsequent Annual General Meeting No third party has a right to appoint a Trustee.

Policies on reserves

The trustees have resolved to establish reserves to provide for future activities, and to provide funding for the expected expenditure for six months ahead in the sum of £20,000.

Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities

The Charities Act and the Companies Act require the Board of Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity as at the end of the financial year and of the surplus or deficit of the charity. In preparing those financial statements the Board is required to :-

The Trustees are also responsible for maintaining adequate accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006 and comply with regulations made under the Charities Act. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The trustees are also responsible for the contents of the trustees' report, and the responsibility of the independent examiner in relation to the trustees' report is limited to examining the report and ensuring that , on the face of the report, there are no inconsistencies with the figures disclosed in the financial statements.

Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees of the charity

Report of the Independent Examiner to the trustees

on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 December 2022

I report on the financial statements of the Charity on pages 8 to 12 for the year ended 31 December 2022 which have been prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis. A Receipts and Payments basis does not account for debtors, creditors, accruals and prepayments, but such a presentation is permitted by law for smaller charities.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

As described on page 5 , the Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees are satisfied that the audit requirement of Section 144(1)) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) does not apply, and that there is no requirement in the governing document or constitution of the Charity for the conducting of an audit. As a consequence, the trustees have elected that the accounts be subject to independent examination.

Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit, and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to:-

a) examine the accounts under section 145 of the Act;

b) to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5))(b) of the Act; and;

c) to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of opinion and scope of work undertaken

I conducted my examination in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners for England & Wales in relation to the conducting of an independent examination, referred to above. An independent examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts , and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning such matters.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit , and information supplied by the trustees in the course of the examination is not subjected to audit tests or enquiries, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts, and in particular, I express no opinion as to whether the accounts give a true and fair view of the affairs of the charity, and my report is limited to the matters set out in the statement below.

I planned and performed my examination so as to satisfy myself that the objectives of the independent examination are achieved and before finalising the report I obtain written assurances from the trustees of all material matters.

Independent Examiner's Statement, report and opinion

Subject to the limitations upon the scope of my work as detailed above , in connection with my examination , I can confirm that this is a report in respect of an examination carried out under section 145 of the Act and in accordance with any directions given by the Commission under subsection (5)(b) of that section which are applicable;

and that, no matter has come to my attention in connection with my examination which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

(i) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act;

(ii) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act ;

have not been met; or

to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in my report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached;

ABOUT US

Muslim Help UK is an independent Charity Organisation registered in the UK. The charity was founded in 2010 by a community reformer from London, who were left devastated by seeing the tragedies across the world unfolding, especially in Rohingya where thousands were displaced from their own homes.

Initially Muslim Help began by supporting helpless refugees as well as helping the most deprived. Since then, with your support, Muslim Help has gone from strength to strength by completing many different projects and changing thousands of lives for the better.

Muslim Help UK is run by voluntary work. Those involved personally with Muslim Help give up their own time to help run the charity as well as having other jobs. We understand the importance in changing people’s lives for the better therefore as humans we must help out others in need without any self-benefit.

Our Mission

We aspire to be the first to help the most vulnerable people on the ground, whether that is due to national disasters, wars, illnesses or droughts. Together we can combine and fight poverty, bring stability to our brothers and sisters across the world and most importantly save lives.

ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR

Over the last few years Muslim Help UK has completed many different projects in various countries. In the past year, we have completed the following:

PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS

Food packs

A family food pack contains rice, oil, flour, onions, potatoes, spices as well as other items where needed. This pack is designed to feed a complete family from 3 to 5 people for a whole month. We distribute these packs to the most desperate who are in an emergency crisis and do not have the means to feed themselves and their families. We also provide these packs in areas where there is a shortage of food or it is difficult for people to gain access for daily necessities.

Muslim Help UK has distributed thousands of food packs in Rohingya, Gaza, Bangladesh, Somalia, Yemen as well as other countries. We have provided these food packs during the difficult time of the Covid19 pandemic, Ramadan and during any national crises around the world.

Healthcare

Muslim Help UK has taken the initiative to provide free health care for the most vulnerable who are in urgent need. We provide free medical check-ups as well as medication for their treatment from our own camps in Bangladesh. This is an ongoing project which benefits the poorest of people who cannot afford to obtain treatment, this then causes further poverty as they are unable to go out and earn.

We are also building a Maternity hospital for the most vulnerable who cannot afford sufficient antenatal care during the time of birth. We can confirm that extensive work has already been carried out and the foundation of the hospital has been completed.

Wheelchair

Wheelchairs provide increased mobility and independence for the less able allowing them to take part in everyday activity without the need of others. It also helps them carry out daily needs with ease as well as supporting them socially and mentally.

We distribute wheelchairs to those who find it difficult to walk, those who are injured as well as elderly people.

Orphan sponsorship

Every child deserves a safe place to stay, best education as well as medical care and nutrition. This however is not possible in the poorest of nations with thousands of Orphans without any stability in life. With your donations, Muslim Help UK has been continuously sponsoring Orphans for the past several years and providing them with Education, Shelter, Nutrition and Health Care.

We have also built our very own Orphan centre, which is providing shelter, education, food, clothing, books, amongst many other day to day needs.

Water barrel

A 300 litre high quality water tank for life-long use. The drum has a tap which provides for an entire family which is then refilled by clean water every month. Our aim is to deliver water barrels for every needy family in Gaza. As you are aware that Palestinians who reside in Gaza strip are in extreme difficulty as entry is restricted, leading to water shortage which then results in diseases and illnesses.

Water well

This is a well which is built from water level by strong concrete and metal rods for its durability. At the top of the well there is a pump as well as a gap to obtain water with a bucket for various purposes.

The well provides for poor families in remote villages in the deserts of East Africa. The benefits are immense, as it is a stable source for water supply for people and animals. This means that people do not have to walk for miles to obtain clean water and have easy access for washing and cooking needs. It also means that it reduces significant illnesses and diseases especially in children.

As we know that East Africa is a desert area and suffers from drought as well as a lack of infrastructure, this results in thousands of people losing their lives.

Muslim Help UK has already built water wells in the remote regions of East Africa to supply clean water to these deprived villages.

Deep tube well

This is a tube which is 700 to 900 feet under the surface, at the bottom there are 2 filters which refines the water. At the top is a hand pump whereby water is extracted easily. There is also concrete at the top which levels the surface so that the water can be taken out safely. These tube wells are built in rural areas in poorest countries.

This well benefits at least 15 to 25 families in the village areas. The approximate cost for this well is £700 to £1000. Muslim Help UK has already built many deep tube wells across the poorest areas benefitting hundreds of families.

Tube well

This is a well which is 200 to 250 feet under the surface. At the bottom there is a filter which refines the water. At the top is a hand pump whereby water is extracted easily. There is also concrete at the top which levels the surface so that the water can be taken out safely. These tube wells are built in rural areas in Bangladesh and Rohingya.

This well benefit 1 to 5 families in the village areas. The approximate cost for this well is £250. Muslim Help UK has already built many tube wells across the poorest areas benefitting hundreds of families.

Water truck

The truck contains 3000 to 5000 litres of fresh water which is distributed to villages in the desert areas. The truck is filled with water and then driven approx. 100 to 150 kilometres. This assists nearly 50 families in Somalia which is commonly known for droughts.

Without clean water in these areas, it causes many waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera and measles. As it is well known, these diseases can be fatal without being hydrated and well nourished. Muslim Help UK have supplied numerous trucks and helped hundreds of families who are in desperate need of clean water.

Winter Pack

This is a pack which contains blankets, mattress and shawls or jumpers. As you are aware that there are millions of people around the world without a roof over their heads especially in the poorer countries. The weather during the winter months causes extreme difficulty for these people which often leads to death.

Blankets

These blankets are long lasting, washable, and family sized blankets which can be used by 2 to 3 people. Millions of people around the world are homeless especially in the poorer countries. The weather during the winter months causes extreme difficulty for these people which often leads to illnesses as they cannot afford to stay warm.

Maternity hospital

Our belief is that prevention is better than cure, hence we are building a hospital where the first aim will be to provide the best healthcare which prevents illnesses and death. There is no doubt that during the time of childbirth, it is one of the most difficult times for the mother and child. Our aim is to provide our sisters with the best care and support at this challenging time which unfortunately in the poorer countries they do not receive.

Maternity hospitals in Bangladesh, are very few with limited services provided. We aspire to build the hospital in an area which will provide for the poorest and deprived of people.
