Walsham le Wllows.. and 2) Promoting for the benefrt of the inhabrtants of Walsham le Willows and the surrounding area the provision of facilrties for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age. infinnity or disablement. financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social weffare and with the object of improving the COnd￿On of lrfe of the said inhabitsnts. Achievements and Performance Chalrnian's Staternent THE OPEN GARDENS WEEKEND 2024 We were extremely lucky with the weather once again. two. warm but not too hot days, made for the perfect ondrtions for our visitors and for the Walsham volunteers. Church bells pealed as the visttors arrtved, eager to sample this year's delights and they ￿rtainlY were not disappointed by the 36 gardens and open spaces. People were thrilled as they crossed the road,. Flower Power Project with in excess of 3000 crocheted flowers fixed lo netting and draped over the brick and flint wall of the churchyard... a total joy to behold. In St Mary's itself. another fantastic art exhibition and sale of local artists Work, a floral display on the theme of 'Nursery Rhymes,. music by VIs￿n9 perfomers. The Village Market was hoLtsed in the yard at Clarkes again this year and visitors happily browsed the stalls, enjoyed an ice cream and leamt that Walsham's famous builders, merchants have a lot more on offer than they perhaps kntsw. At the Memorial Village Hall, we had a recorder group playing and then followed the tradrtional brass bands with quintessentialty English sounds drifting over the village on these idyllic summer days. Visitors remark on the qualty and variety of the refreshments that are provided. indeed some visitors only come to sample them.. the Memorial Hall arKI Priory Room with the now famous lunches and teas including a retum of wonderful meringues this year. Pimm's and produce at the allotrnents, th8 pizza, BBQ and bar at the Elms delighted the public serving fine locally sourced food cooked to perfection and with the garden still packed at the end of each day wtth Itve music continuing well into the evening. Our teams at all our food venues were continuousty congratulated as the days passed by. We had, the now traditional rare tortoises on display. lots of vintage Gars. Motris Dancing. birds of prey in the thurchyard and much, much more... None of this would be possible wrthout the support, the help. and the encouragement we get from, literally hundreds ol Walsham residents, who throw themselves into the event and give their whole hearted support to my wonderful committee's amazing efforts.

hausting at times but we hope you enjoyed the event and we want to thank you all; the garden owners of urse, the volunteers at the car park, the flower arrangers and the flower power people, the art sales folk. e raffle ticket sellers, the helpers at the refreshment venues, the cake makers, the bell ringers, the usicians, the tent erectors (and dismantlers), the traffic cone prowders. all our sponsors who advertised in lovely programme and many many more. ur wami welcome, your smiles and your generosrty shone thrO￿h and t)ur vis¢tors were mightily pressed and we are sure that many of them will come again next year.... a result of the highly successful weekerKI, the Trust made a spectacutar profit of £21,046 for the year. a￿ayS 50 /0 will go to the fabric fund of the Church. the rest to support the many Walsham clubs and anisations who have been invFted to submit funding bids. ce again, a big THANK YOU to you all for your support. I do hope that whatever you were involved wtth at you got completely immersed and enjoyed the whole experience and came away with a 'well charged mmunty spirit, plus that Wa￿ feeling of being part of the fellowship that is Walsham le Willows in the autrful County of Suffolk. Fridge hire st increased 96 % to £1,130 due to additional trailers being hired for the Priory Room and The Elms. nds available at year end were £31.508 81. Responslbllltles and basls of report As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the awunts in accordanc8 with the requirements of the Chartties Act 2011 (the Act,). I report in respect of my exarnination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying OLrt my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5){b) of the Act. Independent exarninerfs statement I have completed my examination. I confim that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect.. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as r4uired by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
