## **Chair’s report** 

The 2020-2021 financial year started during the first full lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ended with restrictions from the third lockdown still in effect. 

The trustees stopped meeting at the Chapel and proceeded with online meetings.  This was a steep learning curve for some but after a number of weeks it became easier.  We sometimes had to patch in trustees by telephone to get around technical challenges. 

Due to restrictions, the main focus of the year was progressing the conversion to a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO).  Trustees worked through putting together a new constitution, progressing special resolutions and completing the conversion application. 

When regulations permitted, trustees continued with usual activities such as chapel maintenance, exhibition preparations and documenting headstones. 

The importance of Burngreave Cemetery as a local green space was evident during COVID-19 lockdowns when it was used by many for daily outdoor exercise. 

I would like to thank all trustees, volunteers and visitors for their continued efforts and commitment during these challenging times.
