The trusttt5 are sat5sfied that all ¥tivities undertaken on bdjalf of the ¢lub aw in with the governing
documcnt and arc in keeping with the aims and strategy of the charity.
The fin￿claI year 5tthed 1st O¢tober 2022 with thc o)ntinuation of mer8ed training Eetween Sandwell Aquatios
(Oldbury and Haden Hill) and Warley W&sp
Sandwell Aquatics ¢ntered 2 teams it) thc Artna iAgu¢ eompdiiion, with Sandwell Aquati¢5 A finishing in 7th place ID
Division 2 and Sandwtll Aquati¢s B finishing in 9th place in Division 3. It w&s deLided to enw only I team in the 2023
competition with Sandwcll Aquatits B resi￿11ng from the league.
Sandwell AquatiU held its first Open Meet at Wolverhampton Central baths in October 2022 which wa5 a gT¢at success
and set us in 8th)d stead for further open meets atthe Sandwell Aquatic Cetth.
All members were r¢-regis¢ered with Swm En8iand ot the start of 2023 Is m¢M￿r5 of Sandwell Aquaties, whieh meant
that our membership stood at between 551>600 members. Members were rJJcoura8¢d to begiD to use th¢ new S8ndwell
Aquati￿ Bank Account to pay membetship and trainin8 fees into.
January 2023 saw the start of the SwimGainz Iwue IformeTly PGL) in whieh Sandwell Aqu¥ties was represented by 2
ieams., 8andwell Red and s￿dWell Bla¢k. Both teams pfyrticipated in the B Final which was held at the Alan Higgs
tentre at the start of Jun¢, with one of the Sandwell t¢ans earniD8 a w¢ll deserved 3rd pl￿¢.
43 swimmers (joint Sondwell and Warley) rep￿sented th¢ ¢lub at the Worc¢ster County Championships in JanlFebTUIry
ond brought home ? Si￿1r1¢¥￿t of medals and PBS.
Unfortunately, February 2023 saw the deparlure of several ￿)&the5 and te4chers and so work started in eamest to ensu
that wc could continue to offer the Thumb¢r of classe5 and tr8inin8 sessitins that we had worked so hard to develop.
March saw ihe start of the summer sewn for the Midland WAter Polo League with two Senior Men's team$ and a mixed
Youth IU161 takin8 part for Sandwell. The se&%on ran until the end of October with Sandwell A finishing in second
plfice in Division I, Sandwell B in the same r*)sition in IAvision 2. The Youth teom finished in equa] 3rd place in thesr
division. the best Ttsult for scverni YCSTS.
The Nuneaton Junior League stsrtgj in April. with the A team Mecessfulty gainLTh8 promotion in the Sept¢mE¢r final to
DivisioA I for the 2024 season.
We took on a new coach io WOTk aiongside Raj, Neil and DBve. and she intr¢ylue•J a Sunday morning Tun session at
Sandwell Valley for the Pr¢mier and CDI squads. Holly quickly fitted into the club and became 8 firni favourite
amon85t the swmmers.
We Entered 2 te8ms in the Merciart League in May {a fiTs¢ for many of the fomtr Oldbury swimmers) with l of thc
teams winning the fina] Tound.
Well done to 911 of OUT Swimmers who repYts¢nted the club 50 well acrc6s all of the league
The club lost sts fight to Telain the whole of the ￿ to Swim prowirne with th¢ plannd move into the Sandwell
Aquatics C¢Dtre. and so in Ju]y w¢ said g(rfxlbye (o some ofour youngest members and those In our DucklinBS to Stage
4 cla55¢s. We rnanaged to successfvlly ne8otiate kn kc¢p our Skill Dcvelopment Stages (stages 5-8) and these si8ges
have 8rown considerably sin(Y th¢ move into the SAC.

Langley Swimming Centre and Smethwick Baths closd their thors for the last time on 14th July 2023 the club
moved in to its new home of the S8ndwell Aquati(s Centre the followtng weA. The club participated in the apening
events led by Sandwell C¢)uncil and ]nembe¥s of the club in*rvÈ¢wrd on loc41 TV and Tadio ststions to Ma￿ this
OCe&5ion.
Sandwell Leisur¢ Tn]st welcomed us inio the Sandwell AquAti¢ Centre wth ot¢n arms and Aygu5t 2023 s2w the start of
the new training programme, which brought together the swimming and water w)lo aciivity und¢r one ￿of again. This
new start ha5 8iven rnembets the opwrtunity to attend many more sesstons than previo￿ty. includin8 3 early momin8
training sessions. a]ongside th¢ p0s5ibility to attend LAnd Ttwning at the SAC.
For the water polo section this h&8 meant tha¢ for the first lime in the history of the club, water polo i5 being played as
intended. That is, in deep water. We are dr¢ady sceing the knefLLs of this in the imptDved fitne55 and perfonnance of
our players.
W¢ succ¢sshJlly held our artnual Club Champs ￿ the centre over one weekend in S¢p*rnbtt which w&$ 8 fant&8tic
opportunity to ty out of th¢ equipment. It has been a steep learning eurve for us all. but one which we h&ve fa¢cd
with detemiination and & drive to succeed. The club then sup]x)rted Worcester County to hold the County Dev¢loprnent
Meet at the centre at the end of September. This vay well attendvAJ by ajl Clubs from within Wotrester County attd
enablc us to showc&se what the eentre is all ab)ut.
The wint¢r seL%on of the Midland Water Polo ixague is Made up of a Women's Lewe and a Junior Men'5 (UI 81
Lcague. Re-estsblishing a women's leam ts a key aim of the water p)10 5¢¢tion and this is progressin8 well with an
in¢re&sed number of females attending training. The junior men's team is currently 5th in the league with a number of
8ames still to play. The British Water Polo League opern*s through the winter and a Trurnb￿ of our senior ployeTS join
with Membe￿ of other lo¢￿ clubs to play in this1¢08ue 85 City of Birmingham.
Throughout the year Sandwell A9￿￿1￿ ha8 been well represented itt teams sele¢ttd to play itl Int¢r-Re8ional
Competiiions foT the West Midlands Region.
