Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts for the year ending 31[st] March 2024
Our charitable objects are to advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public and the relief of poverty.
During the year we spent £9,608 supporting beneficiaries comprising
-
£5,000 was provided for a water purifier in India;
-
£2,408 for poverty relief in Hungary;
-
£1,200 supporting orphans in India; and
-
£1,000 to Aid to the Church in Need for poverty relief in Gaza.
Running expenses amounted to £8,113 and was spent maintaining the Community House at 60 Holly Lane, Birmingham (heat, light, water, council tax, insurance and telephone costs).
Total payments were £17,721.
We received a very generous donation of £130,000 from our community in Hungary following the sale of one of its properties. Other benefactors donated £10,410. Interest earned amounted to £709.
Total receipts were £141,119.
Receipts exceeded payments by £123,398.
The Trust owns the community house at 60 Holly Lane Birmingham which was generously transferred at no cost to the Trust by the former owners. This property is worth £550,000.
At the £31[st] March 2024 cash held in bank accounts amounted to £151,412 (£28,014 2023).
Accumulated funds increased by £673,398 from £28,014 on 31[st] March 2023 to £701,412. This increase arises from receipts exceeding payments by £123,398 and the property transfer valued at £550,000.
Looking ahead the trustees will be able to continue to help those in need with material and spiritual support. The Community House at 30 Holly Lane Birmingham requires repairs and renovation for which there is funding available from our reserves. We are able to meet our running expenses for the foreseeable future.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of the Divine Love Community
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Divine Love Community for the year ended 31[st] March 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
