It doesn't feel like a year since I wrote my last report and yet it has been a busy year indeed.
Covid restrictions still lIr￿ered inltialty but as the year went on we were soon able to say goodbye to
11 restrictions and resume business as usuall
We kicked off the year wtth a fabulous pumpkin festival which the children thoroughly enjoyed and
we saw some amazing creation51 The Christmas fair was a huge success and even featured a flurry of
snow thank5 to a cleverly situated snow machinel The 2212122 challenge was accepted and it was
pleasure to see so many of the children partiapate.
Shopping rOom￿dIScO5/dresS down days_.the return of quiz night and the wonderful Highwood's
Got Talent has certainty kept U5 busy.
All in all the team raised over £ll,IXK) wh•ch I'rn sure you will agree Ss fantssdc
The team that make up Friends of Highwood are just brilliant: friendly and welcoming and a far cry
from the 5tereotyplcal wfA cliques that you hear so muth aboul without them none of these
wonderful events would hap￿n and I'd like to offer my sincere thanks to each and every one of
them for givin8 UP their time and sharing their skills to create such wonderful experiences for our
children. Those that have decided to step down this year will be dearty missed and we thank you for
your dedicatlon and generosity.
We launched our playground project in response to the children's feedback. We are lookin8 forward
to Seeing how this progresses and to support the school in athieving their dreams. The relatlOf15hip
between Friends of Highwood and the school tearn has continued to flourish, the input and support
from the team really cannot ever be underestimated and it makes such a differerKe to the success of
events when the sLiff tsam are involved. the child￿Tr love it and the FOH team love il so I wlll take
this opportunity to thank them also especialfy the offio and site team who always 80 above and
beyond.
I step down this year and we have been actively seeking a new chair. wlthout which Friends of
Highwood Ginnot continue to operate. l am hoping this eVenIn￿S AGM wlll bring forth some new
talent and I wish them well in their new role. I hope they enjoy the experience as rnuch as I have.
