Summary of the main
activities in relation to
these obJ8cts
Summary of the main
achievements in relation
to these objects
The year October 2023 to OL#ober 2024 has been a solid period for the
Poole-wau Partnership.
Our most signfficant achievemenl has been with respect to St John's
College in Wau where we continued to fund the building of the much-
needed extension block of three large classrooms and three Offi￿8. In May
2023, we had set ourselves a target of raising £20,000 for the installation of
the doors. windows and ceiling and the plastering to the walls and floors. In
November 2023 we were able to serKI OLrt £15,CKM) and in February 2024 we
sent out the remaining £5tJOO raised by way of a grant from the Slavanka
Trust It was futher deuded to fund the buikling of a Veranda for the new
buikling and that the fuTrJs raised by Ihe annual Holes Bay Walk would go
toward that. The walk raised £4040. and this was sent to Wau in September
2024. In all we had raised over £45,000 for the extension including
£16,500 from grants.
In addition to fvnding the Extension we sent our annual support grant of
£18,000 for the running of St John's. This was sent in bNo instalments of
£9000 in January arKI July 2024. W8 also sent £860 for the St John's
Female Students Support fund in January 2024. This restricted fund is
intended to enable women to attend St John's college who might otherwise
not be able to.
There V￿re serious flo()Js in several Counttes of Northem Bar el Gazal in
September 2024. partiLwlarty in Warrap and Wanyjok dI0￿se. We felt we
had to respond to this and had a special emergency fund raising for this .
We were able to raise over £2300 in October which would be used to supply
emergency food and cooking equipment.
We d8cided during the year to no longer support individuals from the area of
Northem Bar el Gazal who might be aiming to attend college OLrtside of St
John's. A final grant of £1000 was sent to support the Rev Martin Maror
vtho was attending Bishop Gwyne Colle9e in Juba.
As indicated above, we carried out our two annual fundraising everts during
this period. The Holes Bay Walk in July 2024 was attended by the Bishop of
Sherbome, Karen Gorham. and this provided some additional publicity for
the event. In addition to the Holes Bay WalK the Open Gardens held in
April arKI June 2024 raised £860 from the sale of Cakes and Jams. This
funded the Female Students Support Fund.
During the period we held five trustee meetings, arKI all of these were fully
attended. In addition to our four trust&s, we have three other regular
attendees induding our treasurer. Sadly Bob Lloyd died in October 2023.
Bob had been our secretary for several years and a great supporter of PV41P.
We ￿ntinUed to hold monthly wayer meetings for Wau and these now
all face to face. These Circulate around various churches in Poole so that
supporters in those churches have an opportunty to attend.
We contsnued to pyoduce an excellent Newsletter every 2- 3 months to keep
our supporter5 UP to date with events. The PWP website also continued to
attract a good number of wewings. The qualtty of ly)th the website and
Newsletters remained high as we re¢ognised that, for most of the year,
these were our main ways of Connecting with our supporters. 80th
mediums covered everts pertinent to Wau and indeed South Sudan in
eneral arKI not ust the work of PVIP. We were
reserrted at the Poole

Deanery meetings by our trustee, Rathbone, who made a number of
presentations on our activtties.
Through our frequent communications with Wau about the building of th8 St
John's extension we vRre able to further develop our relationships with key
people within the churd) in Wau, including Philip Abiel Nyok, the Principal of
St John's College. This was particulaty important as toward the end of the
period Archbishop Moses Deng Bol, who has been our main contact since
we stsrted PIVP in 2011, was seconded by the church to be the Peace
Envoy for the S. Sudan Council of Churches and talks in Nairobi.
Bishop Abraham Nhial was appointed as the Acting Archbishop of Northem
Bhar El Ghazal Intemal Provin￿. It was important to know that. with all the
troubles in S Sudan and the civil war in Sudan, the church is being led by
very capable people.

Dear Sir/Mad3m,
Independent Revlew of the Poole-wau Partnership Charities Trust 1147425 Accounts for
period 7 Ortober 2023 to 6 October 2024.
I have independently reviewed the Pool&Wau Partnership Accounts and supporting
documents forthe year to 6 Ottober 2024.
The records again demonstrate that Andrew Holt (Treasurer) has kept robust records for all
the years financial transactions.
I have checked the following:
Income
The income Excel spreadsheet entries match the bank statements.
The income end of yeartotal £25.920 has been correcdy totalled and included in the
accounts.
Cash & cheques have been regularly banked.
Gift aid documents support sums banked.
The income appears to have been raised in the manner described in your annual
report.
enditure
The expenditure Ex￿1 spreadsheet entries match the bank ststements.
This expenditure end of year total £44.502 is correctly included in the accounts.
The expenditure appears to matth the statsd aims of the CharitsbleTrust.
The amounts paid are supported by documents and photos which demonstrate how
the funds have been spent.
Expenses to named persons were checked and are for charity purposes {Website &
Domain fees).
Accounts
The funds brought fonvard minus the overall deficit for y/e 6/10/2024 are correttly
shown at £11.766. This matches the sum held at the bank £11,645 plus £120
peoples fundraising not yet paid in.
Expenditure has exceeded income in this financial period.

The email trails and other correspondence don't suggest any unrecorded
transactions.
Detsils of the movement of Restritted funds has been explained.
In summary there does not appear to be errors or omissions in the accounts. The
accounting records are therefore considered to be a true reflection on the Poole-wau
Partnerships finances for this year.
The work of the Poole Wau Partnership continuesto be well organised with excellent
financial record keepin& The funds are hugely helpful to those it supports.
Kind Regard5
