Trustees Report for the year ended 31 July 2022

The trustees, who are also directors of the charity for the purposes Of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 July 2021.

The Board of Trustees also forms the Executive Committee which appoints officers who are Responsible for the day to day running of the charity.

The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities' issued in March 2005.

For the year ending 31 July 2021 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

Directors' responsibilities

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts for the year in question in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing document

The organization, which is a registered charity, is limited by guarantee and was incorporated In July 2010. The governing document is the company's memorandum and articles of association.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Review of Activities and Income generation

Post Lockdown and COVID the Charity has resumed its face to face activities and our amazing trustees have made an outstanding work.

Orphanage projects

Mama Asha is proudly announcing the opening of our new secondary school that enable children to progress and arise their education and develop their knowledge. Our

professionals’ educators are dedicated to providing outstanding teaching methods required for the relevant key stages.

WATER PROJECT

Our primary objectives this year included providing clean water to around Somalia by prioritising the residents who were mostly affected by dirty water or drought.

Well digging projects

Mama Asha Foundation is pleased to announce that the numbers of wells constructed have now increased and has now covered the most drained villages affected by the draught.

Local projects

Our main local project this year was tackling the knife crime and avoid risk of exploitation of the local youth, by organising various football events that and pairing our mentors volunteers to our youth. We have also provided free CV, cover letter and interviewing skills courses to help our young local youth to gain confidence and approachability when applying for jobs.

Upcoming projects:

The charity is collecting sufficient funds to invest on an ambulance van in order to provide urgent care and transport to the victims who are affected by injuries, illnesses that may require hospital recovery will then be transported to the nearest Health Service.

We are proud to have provided 10 wheelchairs that has

enabled transportation to victims who suffer from mobility issues.

1 Accounting policies

Basis of preparation

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008).

Turnover

Turnover represents the value, net of value added tax and discounts, of goods provided to customers and work carried out in respect of services provided to customers.

Depreciation

Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives.

Plant and machinery

20% straight line

Deferred taxation

Full provision is made for deferred taxation resulting from timing differences between the recognition of gains and losses in the accounts and their recognition for tax purposes. Deferred taxation is calculated on an un-discounted basis at the tax rates which are expected to apply in the periods when the timing differences will reverse.

Foreign currencies

Transactions in foreign currencies are recorded at the rate ruling at the date of the transaction. Monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies are translated at the rate of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. All differences are taken to the profit and loss account.

Leasing and hire purchase commitments

Assets held under finance leases and hire purchase contracts, which are those where substantially all the risks and rewards of ownership of the asset have passed to the company, are capitalised in the balance sheet and depreciated over their useful lives. The corresponding lease or hire purchase obligation is treated in the balance sheet as a liability.

The interest element of the rental obligations is charged to the profit and loss account over the period of the lease and represents a constant proportion of the balance of capital repayments outstanding.

Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to income on a straight line basis over the lease term.

Pensions

The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions are charged to the profit and loss account as they become payable in accordance with the rules of the scheme.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF MAMA ASHA FOUNDATION

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] July 2022, which is set out on Pages 9 - 12.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The trustees, who are also the directors of MOTHER AND CHILD WELFARE ORGANISATION for the purposes of company law, are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011, the 2011 Act, and that an independent examination is needed.

Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for Independent examination, it is my responsibility to:

(i) examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

(ii) To follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

(iii) State whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(a) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

(i) To keep accounting records in accordance with section 386 of the Companies Act 2006; and (ii) To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records, comply with the accounting requirements of 396 of the Companies Act 2006 and with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities; have not been met; or

(b) To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
