INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT

TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE ALTERNATIVE HAIR CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2026.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

• (i) examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

• (ii) to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

• (iii) to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

• (a) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

• (i) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and

• (ii) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act;

• have not been met; or

• (b) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Objectives and Actlvltlgs The Foundation is empowered to promote any charitable purposes for the public benefit as arg exclusively charitsble according lo the laws of England and Wales as the Trustees may from time lo b'me determine and in particular but wilhoul prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the advancement of research into and the treatment and welfare of people suffering leukaemia and related cancers of the blood. The Trustees have decided that ft)r the lime being they can best pursue the foregoing as a grant making charity that focuses on specific selected causes and have adopted a grant making F)olicy that reflects this. Grant Maklng Pollcy 1. Introduction The Allernalive Hair Charitablg Found8tA'on was set up in January 2072 following 30 years of Th8 Allemalive Hair Shows, a s817es of unique charity fundraising events supported by the hair care industry intgmationally and founded on the show held in London each yearsince 1983. Shows have also been staged in Bologna, Chicago, Moscow, Seoul, Tokyo and Vienna. Thg shows have all been dedicated lo supporting Ihg WO￿ of the UK charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (noa Blood cancer UK) and charities that advance research and treatment of leukaemia and related Cance￿ of the blood in the other countrF8s in which they were staged. Much has been aCh￿ved as a result. 2. Policy The Trustees, policy for the foreseeable futur8 is to build upon and broaden the benefits that The Attemative Hair Shows are bringing to mankind by funding ch8ri1ies with established experience and expertise in the advancem6nl of research into and the treatment and welfare of people suffering leukaemia and related cancers of the blood. They reseThe the discretion to vary the t8rms contained in this document should they consider the particular circumstances wa￿ant it. 3. Applicatlon of Pollcy The Trustees are applying funds to any one orcombinatAon of the following objectives.. Supwjrting charities with the eslablNshed experience and expertise to dellverpnijecls which will help to accelerat6 and/or extend more widety the benefits of researoh and treatment developed in Ihe UK b. Funding or contributing to the fvnding of$p&cific projects approved by LLR'S expert 8dvisoryp8nels with particular emphasis on the accelerat￿n and translation of successful researGh into clinical benefit for children wilh leuk8emia. c. Pmmoting the well-being of children with leukaemia and their families. Research gTrnls will be subj'ect to pr(K)f of satisfaclorypeer rewew of th8 fftsearch by the grantee. The Trustees believe that the foregoing will commit all the fvnds they are cullenlly able lo raise and so cannot consider applications for support from organisations or individuals al present, nor forthe foreseeable future. 4. Award and Monitoring of Grants The TnJste8s will confirm in writing the details of any grant aw8rded along with the temjs and conditions of the gTrnl including requirements forprogress reports.

1. Future Policy The Trustees will keep tha above policy und6rregul8r review Volunteers The Foundation depends heavily upon the contribution of vo]unteers- their lime, their expeth'se, their money. The day to day running of the Foundation is carried out on an entirely voluntary basis by the Trustees with the assistance of staff and office faulilies 9enerously provided by our Chairman, Mr A J Rizzo, al no cost lo the Foundation. The annual Allemalive Hair Show, currently the Foundation's main source of income. eomprises a spectscLtlar array of on-stage productions by hairdressing artistic teams from across the wodd who give their services entirely free of charge. Unfortunately, and principally because il weas not possible lo find a suitabl8 venue, there was no Alternative Hair Sh¢)w this financial year. Hen￿ income is drastically down on previous years. A grant to the Maids of the Poor Sisters, Ethiopia lor essential medicine and medical suppSies for Taza Health Clinic Public Benefit We are aware of the Charity Commission's public benefit guidelines and consider that the ￿rk we have funded during the course of the year falls entirely within those guidelines. Financlal Revlew and Re$¢rves We do not grant or ￿MMIt funds beyond our actual financial resources. Our day to day running costs are generously supported by our Chaiman, Mr Rizzo and his busness operation. The stste of the Foundation's fInan￿S is, Iherefore, sound. We convert ftjnds raised and given Into charitable grants for publlc benellt as soon as is practicably possible and reserve sufficient funds to cover the venue deposit and insurance and other upfront costs for the next year's Altemative Hair Show which is currenvy our main source of income.
