|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The charity has continued to educate the<br>public regarding the D16/1 class via online<br>and in person opportunities, both at our<br>Workshop and on our Information Stand at<br>venues.<br>We have saved and preserved parts<br>pursuant to the aim, ready for eventual<br>creation of the new locomotive.<br>Work progressed to strip and refurbish the<br>braking, suspension and electrical control<br>aspects.<br>Notably during 2022, the Society received<br>significant parts donated from rail company<br>GBRF which both served to reduce the<br>overall cost of the project and enable it to<br>move forward at a quicker pace.<br>The most dramatic development within the<br>year was the separation of the locomotive<br>chassis form its bogies and inversion onto a<br>wagon ready for further work to be carried<br>out. We were able to realise full value for<br>items not further required for our project.|
