Activities and Objectives
Th¢ main object of tlie company is to benefit those employed or fornierly employed in tFte wine and spirit
and ancillary trades, and their dependents. This includes the general relief of poverty among such
individuals and support of the Drinks Trust (formerly the Wine and Spirit Trades Benevolent Society). The
activities of the company are undertaken to further its charitable purposes and the trustees have had regard
to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on publi¢ ben¢fil.
Strncture, Governance and Management
Tlie ¢ompany was incorporated as a Charitable ￿Mpally limited by guarantee on 22 December 2011. The
company took over the assets of the Wine Trade Foundation, a charity with the same activities and
objectives which had been formed by a Declaration of Trust dated 17 July 1973.
On 22 November 2012, the Company merged into it5 balance sheet the assets of the Vine Products
Einployees, Benefit Fund, a charitable trust with similar objectives to the company. The Fund is now
administered as part of the property of the company subject to the restriction that when applying the
property transferred the company must give priority to the original beneficiaries.
The ￿anagement of the affairs of the company is conducted by th¢ truste¢s, who meet twice a yellr as a
minimum, and more frequently if considered necessary.
Achievements and Fin&neiAI Review
The trustees met twice during the year to agree the recipients and amounls of grants and donations.
The trustee5 also met once to discuss the charity's investtnent strat¢RY.
The investment portfolio p¢rforni¢d in line with equity Markets.
Plan8 for the Future
The trustees intend distributing all or most of tlie net ittcome of the charity as charitsble 8r￿tS and
donations. The investment portfolio will be maintained to provide a reasonable balan¢¢ between income
generation and capital appreciation.

TO TIIE TRUSTEES OF THE WINE SPORTS CLUB FOUNDATION
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year ended
31 December 2025.
RespoDsibilitie5 and basis of report
As the charity's trustees of the Company (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are
responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act
2006 ('the 2006 Act,).
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of
the 2006 Act and are eligible for independeiit examination. I report in iEspect of my examination of your
charity's accounts as Carried out und¢r s¢¢tion 145 of the Charili¢s Act 2011 ('th¢ 2011 Act,). In ¢arrying
out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Comillis5ion under section 145(5)
(b) of the 201 l Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with
the examination giving me cause to believe,

Accounting Polieies

The Financial Statements ar¢ pr¢pared under the historical cost convention, with the exception
th&t investments are included at market value. The Financial Statements have been prepared
in accordance with the second edition of Accounting and Reportin8 by Charities.. Siatemenl of
Recomtnended Practice applicable to ¢h8riti¢s preparing their accounts in accordance with the
FiDancial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued
in October 2019, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011 and the Companies Aci 2006.
b)
Income
All incoming resources are recognised once the charity has entitlement to the resources, it is
certain that the resources will be received and the monelary value of incoming resources can
be measured with sufficienl reliability.
Expenditure
Liabilities are recognised as resources expended as soon &5 there is a legal or constructive
obligation committing the charity to the expenditure. All expenditure is accounted for oil an
accruals basis and has be¢n ¢lassifi¢d under headings that aggregate all costs related to the
category.
Grants payable are payments made to third parties in th¢ furtherance of the charitable
objectives of the Trust. The grants are accounted for when either the trustees have agreed to
pay lh¢ grant without condition and the recipient has a reasonable expectation that they will
receive a grant, or any condition attaching to the grant is outsid¢ th¢ control of the Trust.
Irrecoverable VAT is charged against the category of resources expended for which it w&s
inourred.

Grant Making Policy
The trustees r¢¢¢iv¢ r¢qu¢sts for assistance from qualifying beneficiaries which are
considered by the trustees at their regular meetings and grants awarded in circumstances
considered to be appropriate, at the sole discretion of the trustees.

trustees, having taken appropriate legal advice.
