For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.”_ (Philippians 1:3-8).

And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbours as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”_

The ministry primary objective is to repair the breach and restore the broken walls, streets to our dwellings (house of the Lord. To establish foundations of many generations and build the old waste places through prayers and word of God. Guiding men grow spiritually to become watchmen of their families, church (body of Christ) and true Disciples of Jesus Christ that will impact the society in the 21st Century.

Page **6** of **15**

since lockdown, we as the children ministry have continued reaching out to children and their parents, encouraging, and uplifting each other in kind and in prayer.

- ❖ Communication through social media has been maintained with the continued aim of encouragement as well as knowing their wellbeing. Parents have continued to be of great help and a bridge of interaction and teaching of God’s word to the children. Bible stories, Bible verses and songs have been sent to the children with the parents facilitating their learning. With schools open now, children are still anxious with cases of Covid-19 being found in schools as well, and we are communicating to parents and the children to allay their fears and reiterate the governments guidelines on the safety measures of keeping the virus at bay.

- ❖ As we are still waiting for the government directive on opening of Church buildings, we are still discussing our transition after lockdown, with areas of sensitivity like ways of keeping zero transmission of the virus when the children start to meet being top in our safety measures strategies. Positive feedback has been received with many looking forward to the day that they will be in the house of God rejoicing together. With this comes immense preparation for the opening and regular communication with the church leaders on the strategies to be put forth before the day comes. The children ministry being a sensitive area needs careful consideration as children are prone to not following all safety regulations especially social distancing.

These measures were discussed with the Bishop, Children ministry patron and Church leaders as a whole to come up with safe yet non-restrictive measures for the children. Some measures discussed for implementation were:

   - Temperature checks at the Church entrance.

   - Sanitizing gel in place in the children room.

   - Sanitizing of chairs, tables, and toys in the children room before and after service.

   - Children learning materials like pencils, colour pencils, crayons, glue etc for every child to be stored in a pouch with the child’s name on it. In this way, each child would use their own pouches, and this would help with prevention of cross contamination.

   - The children to leave the service some minutes before the main service finishes to avoid congestion on the stairs.

- ❖ Prayers and encouragement for the children ministry team has been ongoing. We all need that word that encourages our hearts as we all face things that wear us down. We are thankful to our Children Ministry patron as well as our Bishop Dr. for standing with us in prayers, kindness, and encouragement in many areas.

- ❖ During this whole Covid-19 pandemic the Church has been reminded that it has a wide mission that is not limited to any place or time and that we all need each other.

**6. Welfare Program:**

Independent Examiner’s Report To the Trustees

## **THE RHEMA PENTECOSTAL CHURCH**

I report on the accounts of the church for the year ended 31[st] December 2022 set out on the following pages which have been prepared on the basis of their accounting policies shown in the corresponding pages.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The trustees of the church are responsible for the preparation of the accounts: they consider that the audit requirement under section 43(2) of the charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act), does not apply. It is my responsibility to:

- Examine the accounts under section 43(3) of the 1993 Act.

- Follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissions made under section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act.

- State whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of Independent examiner’s report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the church and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently i do not express and audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## Independent examiner’s statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

- (1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material aspect, the trustees have not met reasonable requirements to ensure that:

   - Proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of the Act)

   - Accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act: or

- (2) To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
