As Chair of the Board, I continue to pioudly play a leading role in a local charity that pcovides a 8ieat service for our tenant5, unmatched services
to our external users and provides an inclusfve and sUPPOrti¥e place to work for our hard working and dedicated staff.
It has been yet another busy year, the external activities provided by the Oakwood and WorkTaste teams continue to grow and represent the
Rossendale Tiust In a 8lowing118ht whilst out in the community.
We belleve that the breadth and accessibility of ihe service5 we prowide not On￿ meets the needs of our tenant5, but of day service users. We
prlde ourselves on our tenant forum and the ability to make all our services tenarti and service usei led.
We malntalned our ratlng of "GOOD. throLtEhout the 2024-2025 financial year with our re8ulatOf. the Care Quality Commission and we await
our next a5se55ment as we continue to strive fof Excellence. We continue to provtde high qualitycare for pver Seventy people in the Mac¢lesfleld
and Buxton areas and are currently undertaklnB several 5trate8ic inltiatives for the f￿Ure In developing our medium- tefm plans.

Hlstory Governance and Oblertlves ol theTrust
RossendaleTrustwas created under a Trust Deed date 2ndJuly 1975. It was orl￿nalfyf0unded In 1973 and Is a lastin8tesYmonyto thè generosltv
of the Chapman and Hyde famllles who purchased Rossendale Hall as thelr home and then klndly donated the Hall to the Trust. The first guests
arrlved In the purpo3e-bullt short stay unlt In 1976. Slnce then, Rossendale Trust ho5 uown to provlde resldential care now superseded by
Supported Llvlng and day care servlce5 In Sutton. Macclesfield. and Buxton. In 2008 the adminlstration of Rossendale Trust and Hovls Plea5an¢e
was amaliamated to operate as one scheme.
In conjunctlon wlth the route taken by many other charltles. In 2012, the Trust dEclded to move to corporate status and bEcame a companv
Ilwnlted by guarantee ICLGI. However, due to spetle larMI belng held In the old charlty, it was necessary for the Trust to malntaln the two separate
charlttes. The Rossendale Trust Itd111467711 Is the corporate trustee of Ros5endale Trust11146771-11 and the objectives and purpose of each
chaflty Is essentially the same.
The Trust has an annual Income and expendlture In the re8lon of £6.4 million Itop 2% of UK charl￿e$l and over hundred staff provldlng care
and support to tenants Ilvln8 In shared apartments and houses. We also provlde a day a£￿vIty servlce Ioakwoodl to one hundred adult5, both
tenant5 ofihe Trvst and people from the wlder communlty. offering a wlde ran8è of activities Includlng Art5 & Crafts, Medla, Hortfjculture, Muslc,
Swlmmln8 and Walklng. Th15 servlce runs alon8slde our Incluslve employment pro8ramme, WorkTaste, whlch supports many local Indlvldulls
who have a learnlng dlsablllty or are on the AutSstSc spedrum. to laln valuable work based experlence towards employment.
The'ba$2llne' care needs of our tenants are funded byour commlssloners, IpredomlnantlyChe5hlre East Councll and Derbyshlre County Counclll,
out of whlch we must pay our staff and other dlrect expense& In Ilne wlth m05t Independent provlder5. the Trust works In a dlfficult Inanclal
envlronment. Government constralnts are p￿n8 unhelpful. most of our IrKome streams come from Local authorlty commls51oned servlces.
The Trust has rece5ved Inadequate support from our maln commlssloned ser¥lces provlder In recent years. whlch has put addltlonal pressure on
our flnances and a150 Ihe ablllty to attract and retaln staff and compete agalnst the Increaslng Natlonal Llvlng Wage. Thls Is reflected In the very
tOiJ8h Inanclal yearexperlenced In 2023-2024. Fortunatelyi we Improved our posltlon In 2024-2025 wlth a surplus of £258k. In addltSon, we have
bullt up stron8 reserves over recent years whlch has gfven us a reax)nable level of protectlon.
Furthersupport tothe buslness has been shown bythe loyaltygenerated byourtslented and dedlcatedworkforce. Thelrl¢)yalty and ¢ommltment
has not dlmlnlshed and has enabled theTrust to stlll malntain the provlslon of a first-chiss service.
Imptsrtantly, we must also a¢knowled8e the wonderful support we recelve from grant maklng Trusts, companles, partnershlps and Indlviduals,
much of whlch Is on an ongolng annual bas15 and Indudes a great contrlbudon from local supporters. They make a massive differen¢È to our
tenant athvlttes and the Important prolects whlch enhance thelr dally Ilves. The addltional rental Income streams from our owned properdes

A successful achlevement throu8hout th15 year was the regular Tevlews and updates undenaken by our regulator on the performance of the

The Trust have organlsed a Termnts Forum every quarter and Introduced a Tenants Gulde to keep them up to date wlth the latest developments
at the Trust. The tenants also play a major role In the Annual Fashlon Show. Tenantand Stèff Xmès Parties and interviewing pr05pertive new staff

servlce provider, Cheshlre East. However, w• were able to gènerate a srnall surplus of £153.445. In addition, there was B £IOS,000 8aln from the
revalLFOtlon of an Investment property, takln8 the totsl surplus for the year to £258,44512024-1oss of £321.0741.
Importantly, the Trust dld conynue to Improve salarle5 and benefits packages of our stsff, also ensurtn8 that all stsff recelve an hourly rate

healthy reserves position. We have adequate bank balances and have ownership of a small number of properties and other assets with good
valuations. We do have a strong relationshlp with our principal debtOT5 who are our commlssloner5 Wlth much of our fundlng guaranteed. But
