**Activities:** CLAWAR aims to widen robot application domains for the public benefit by identifying and leading keys initiatives (both nationally and internationally) that are able to address global concerns for  robotics. The current issues identified are the lack of safety standards for service robots and poor interaction between the robot research community and the robot standardisation community.
