Objertlves ol Rldiebatk Rescue The objectlves of the charlty are to provide appropriate care, protection. treatment, securlty and support for Rhodesian Rid8ebacks; to relieve suffering and distress where necessary to find suitable permanent new home5 for such animals- and to educate and advise both Rhodesian Ridgeback owners and the wider publlc In matters pertainin8 to the health, welfare and the prevention of cruelty and sufferin8 of these dogs. Organlsatlon The management of the charity is under the control of the trustees. The trustees shall have power to deal with any matters not covered by the charity's rules.
RIDGEBACK RESCUE TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 Trustees Report . The Charities Act requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for every financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at the end of the year and of the surplus, or the deficiency for the year. In preparing those finantlal statements, the trustees are required to select suitable accounting pollcles, and then apply them on a consistent basis, making judgement5 and estimates that are Prudent and reasonable. The trustees must also prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it Is inappropriate to presume that the charity will contlnue in business. The tru5tee5 are responsible for keepin8 proper accountin8 record5 which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. The truslees are also responsible for Safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable Steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularitie5. Our long serving Chair, Kerry Rhodes, decided to step down to concentrate on personal matters, and in June the Trustee accepted her resi8nation. At the AGM I was voted in as Chairman in addition to my existing duties as Treasurer. The Trustee will be forever 8rateful to Kerry for her inCdIble hard work in both promoting the acttvities of the Charity and offerin8 her vast wealth of knowledge to the Trustees and all the supporters of the Charity who contacted us. We remain in contact with Kerry and wish her the very best on her journey. The Charity Itself had a busy Year, offerlng advice and help In many different areas. As one of our Trustees Is qualified behaviourist. we have been able to offer advice on a much wider range of subjects. Our flnanclal posltion has Improved throughout the year. and we have been able to help a number of do85 with expensive veterinary bills. includin8 a case of Lumbro Sacral condition and a laminectomy. We are very grateful to our 8rowSn8 number of supporters who have made It Posslble for us to help these dogs. Durin8 the year we re-homed 39 dogs, 28 male and 11 female. We were contacted by many more owners who were lookin8 for guidance and information about the breed and l am very pleased to say that we were able to help in these case5.
