TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 202212023
Animal Rescue Cymru is a small animal charity, taking in and rescuing all types of domestic
animals from all over Wales. We hold micro chipping days to promote micro chipping at a far
reduced rate. We have displays set up to educate the public to the plight of these abandoned
animals and how to prevent and help. School talks & Club tslks are undertaken for educating
young and old alike.
Another busy year for our volunteers. The adoptions have increased, despite the economic
climate, but on the reverse, the number of animals that have come in for rehoming has also
increased. This has put added pressure on the boarding kennels that we use & we have been
forced to find more foster homes to help cope with the numbers. We are mindful that kennels
are a business & we are therefore reluctant to use too many kennels, thus reducing the
kennels, income.
We are still receiving dogs that are not micro chipped. despite the fact that it has been a legal
requirement Sin￿ 2016. We occasionally run micro chipping sessions in our shop, but the take-
UP is minimal.
Several other species of animals have come through our doors this year, including rabbits,
guinea pigs, hamsters & even a snakel All of which were rehomed.
A number of new volunteers have joined the dog-walking team, & we are delighted to find that
there have not been any issues with either the dogs or the walkers. The shop has also
benefited from an influx of new volunteers, & the shop has undergone a refresher. As a result
the customer numbers have increased, together with the weekly takings & it is now going from
strength to strength.
Publicity this year has expanded & the charity has featured in two local magazines. & been
mentioned on a local radio programme & we had a few successful adoptions as a result.
The charity is moving fonvard Suc￿sSfullY & it may now be time to consider opening another
shop to increase our fundraising.
