Trustees Annual Report 2021/2022

Animal Rescue Cymru is a small animal charity, taking in and rescuing all types of domestic animals from all over Wales. We hold micro chipping days to promote micro chipping at a far reduced rate. We have displays set up to educate the public to the plight of these abandoned animals and how to prevent and help. School talks & Club talks are undertaken for educating young and old alike.

This year has been busier than ever, with more dogs coming into the rescue, but the number of adoptions has dropped, partly we believe, due to the cost of living, & this is also one of the main reasons why so many dogs are coming in.

The kennels that we use have been able to build extra kennels for our use, for which we are grateful & they have maintained our boarding fees at the same level as agreed since we first boarded there. However, our vet fees have increased along with the transport costs.

Our charity shop is doing well, however & we now have a number of volunteers who help both in the shop & walking the rescue dogs & will now enable us to attend many fund raising events next year – something we have been unable to do, due to the lack of volunteers to help at these events.

Due to the cattery closing, we are now unable to take any rescue cats, but we can advise people of other local cat rescues that can help. However, there are a couple of cat chalets that are for any emergency use.

We are hoping next year will be as busy but with more volunteers to help & look forward to rehoming even more animals.
