meetings returning over lime. We rdn the Village Fde on Swiday 10 July 2022 hwl our AGM on 22 seP￿rnber. The key
event of the year. which has imtActed much of the &xieWs Work. ￿ the elections on 6 May 2022. The Society 13ri
a well-attended hustings jointly with the MaryleiM)n¢ Asswiaiion the Fituovia Nei8hbourhrx)d Association in which
each of the Lakjur and Corb5CTvative Candidate5 for the West End Ward fxtd questioths from Soho residents. Many
quesiions w¢r¢ asked the council's plans to rnakt the Al FTe5CO scheme PEnnaneni and 115 Vt5ion for Soho proposals.
The election re5uII Saw a change in contml of the ¢oun¢il with JJbour taking control for the firs1 time in the council'5
hisiory and thrtt IAbour candidate5 rebjrntd for the West Ermj Ward. The new L8bouT administration ar Ihe council
abandoned (h¢ proposed rettsm of Al Fresco and the Vision for Soho prop)sals were put on hold. The council has s¢artoJ a
process to make changes io the City Plan and Is now a]so sthrting the process of canying oui its cumulative impact

We are suided by Westhiinsier City Council's Licensing Policy and the Soho S(Kiety'S Licensing Mandate and, as
with our Plaming Group, we continue to bE guided by the objective of making Soho a ￿tter place to live, work and visit.
All applica11￿$ for alcohol sales and late-night premises are exarnined and we make rEpresentatiOTLS to apply f¢x
li￿￿51n9 hours outside Westtnirh5terfs LicensiDg Core Hours Policy and those that we Ftlieve may have a negative irnpact

loss of Soho's main supernia¥k¢L th¢ loss of th¢ 1929 Art tkn building al 7 Stho Square, the massing of the r¢pla¢¢￿ent
buildings, the creation of a new tntrarKe into Soho Square arxl the enviwnmentai impac( of demoliiion. The scheme that
has now gone into planning remairks broadly the same though the increased accc55 to the SquaTe has been reduced.
A r)umber of small changes to tht Wtslrninstu City Plan have ittn w(wsed ith¢luding thanges to th¢ rules on demolition
and refvrbishment. We responded to the councifs C4)nsulwion and await the firbal propwls.

Future of Soho
Soho Neighbourhood Fonjm.. We led the fonnal establishment of this foTum in 2015, repres¢nting businesses and
residents. The forum continued to work hard over the year, with the resulting NeighknuTho(NJ Plan having passed its
referendLfft) on 2 September 2021 with a rts(yJnding maioTity. The st￿l￿g grwp ¢oniinues (o mtti and is now chaired by
Lucy Hatne. one of the Sc¢ietys mLgees. Its rn￿n area of focus is CIL projects. DuTing 2022 the Forum procured a
detsiled retx)n on wL%te in Soho athl th* has io the council committing 10 incre&sed resources to ensure wa5t¢ is only
kft (wi on ￿h¢d￿je and to consider i*tter and more cnvjronmrt￿￿lY friendly ways of dealing with Soho's w&ste.
Al Fresco and Vi5i0n for Soho.. In 2020 ihr council el¢)sed 14 stttets in Soho io allow for QUt5idc drinking and dining to
help the hospitality industry that faced health r¢stric¢](M￿ on wjviding seThice insid¢. Thrthjgknt 2020 we encouraged the
eountil lo engage ¥￿th residents on some of the i5sue5 that the xheme rdised. primarity nighttime noise bui also waste,

While we have sympathy for the businesses and the fact that the C￿ncIl h*J quickly in the ¢mergency, our 5uppon
