The Gate Community Church
Registered Charity No: 1146562
Annual Report for the year ending 3110512024
Objects & Activities
The Gate Community Church is committed to the following objects:
To advance the Christian faith lin accordance with the Statement of Beliefsl in such ways and in such
parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit;
To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision
of funds, goods or services of any kind, including through the provision of counselling and support in
such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit,. and
To advance education in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the
Trustees from time to time may think fit.
The Trustees are aware of the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit in their publication The
Advancement of Religion for Public Benefit, and have given regard to it in their administration of the Charity.
Over the course of the last year we have continued to put regular postings on Facebook including a weekly link
to the recordings of our Sunday services. A few members of the church have been unable to attend for some
time and some of these do not have internet access so we have also continued to send out CDS each week.
We have continued to make regular monthly gifts to the Living Stones Church in Okara, Pakistan. We are also
continuing to provide financial support to an asylum seeker who joined the church early in 2022
In addition to the regular overseas giving mentioned above, we have also given the following:
£1400.00 to Living Stones Church in Okara, Pakistan to help families who lost their homes during
period of unrest.
We are part of a network of churches called 'Maximise" The church leadership team receives support from
the leadership of Maximise and the area leaders, meetings have been continued on a bi-weekly basis using
Zoom. We have also been able to join with area-wide livestream meetings which are organised on a quarterly
basis. The "Maximise Gatherings" are now held twice a year and Members of the church have attended on
each occasion. We are continuing to make a financial contribution to Maximise which we pay on a monthlv
basis.
Financial Review
Total receipts for the year were £31,739.53 and total expenses for the year were £32,598.56. Details of these
amounts are shown in the attached financial statements.
Reserves Policy
Currently we do not have any financial liabilities and therefore we do not have any need for specific reserves.
However, at the year end, £6,548.21 was held in a deposit account l£1,620.00 of this is designated for the
Building Fund).
Pastors Remuneration
Mr Robert Grimshaw has continued to receive £100.00 per week in recognition of the duties involved in bein8
the senior leader of The Gate Community Church. Imr Grimshaw is registered as self-employed and is

responsible for declaring this income for tax purposes). Mr Philip Warne has continued to receive £75.00 per
week in recognition of the pastoral duties that he carries out within the church. Imr Warne is also responsible
for declaring this income for income tax purposes).
Volunteers
Apart from a payment of £100.00 per week to Mr Robert Grimshaw, and the £75.00 per week paid to Mr Philip
Warne, The Gate Community Church is run on a volunteer basis and we would like to thank everyone for their
support and hard work throughout the year. There is a Protection Policy in place in respect of children and
vulnerable adults. Checks are made with the Disclosure and Barring Service in respect of persons dealing
regularly with young people and vulnerable adults. Whilst it is impossible to eliminate all risks and their
consequences. efforts are constantly made to minimise such occurrences. The appointed Protection Officer is
Mr Philipjohn Warne.
Data Protection and Privacy
We contacted the Information Commissioners Office in the early part of 2018 and ascertained that we were
not required to register. However, we recoEnise that we are required to comply with the law in regard to data
protection and the new GDPR regulations and WÈ therefore adopted a Data Protection Policy and a Privacy
Policy in May 2018. Both of these are available on the church website.
