ADRODDIAD CADEIRYDD
Mae 2020 wedi bod yn gyfnod heriol i bob un ohonom; mae ceisio gweithio o fewn cyfyngiadau parhaus a chyfnodau o gyfnodau clo wedi dod â'u heriau ond mae hefyd wedi rhoi amser i ni fyfyrio ar gyfeiriad gweinidogaeth ym Mro Ardudwy ac ail-ddychmygu ein nodau a'n hamcanion yng ngoleuni dyfodol ansicr. Fel un o'r rhai yng nghategori agored i newid yn glinigol a oedd yn gwarchod fy hunan yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, roedd y gwaith o ddarparu cymorth ysbrydol a bugeiliol yn anodd ond gyda chymorth tîm ymroddedig, roeddem yn gallu parhau i fod yn ffynhonnell cryfder a gobaith i'n plwyfolion. Mae'r adroddiad hwn ar gyfer 2020 yn rhoi trosolwg dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf ac yn dangos sut rydym wedi manteisio ar gyfleoedd ac wedi wynebu heriau er mwyn defnyddio ein hadnoddau i hyrwyddo holl genhadaeth yr Eglwys, bugeiliol, efengylaidd, cymdeithasol ac ecwmenaidd, yn y plwyf. Mae arnaf ddyled o ddiolch i bawb sy'n cefnogi plwyf Bro Ardudwy sydd, drwy eu gwaith caled a'u hymroddiad, wedi helpu i ledaenu neges yr Efengyl cariad Crist at bawb.
Eleni, dathlwyd yn llawen ordinasiwn Pam Odam i'r diaconiaeth neilltuol gan yr Esgob Andrew John yn Eglwys Sant Ioan, Abermaw. Mae gwaith caled Diacon Pam fel darllenydd ers blynyddoedd lawer wedi bod yn fudd a bendith mawr i Bro Ardudwy ac roeddem yn falch iawn o allu gweithio gyda Pam yn ei rôl weinidogol newydd.
Eleni, fe wnaethom ffarwelio hefyd â'r Parchedig Brian Evans sydd wedi camu i lawr ar ôl blynyddoedd lawer o wasanaeth ffyddlon fel offeiriad yn yr Ardal Weinidogaeth. Bydd y Parch Brian a'i wraig, Llinos, yn parhau i aros gyda ni fel aelodau o'n cynulleidfa. Rydym yn ddiolchgar i'r Parch Brian am ei gyfraniad mawr i Bro Ardudwy ac yn arbennig i'r gymuned yn Llanaber.
Gyda thristwch mawr y collasom y Parchedig Robert Hughes a'i wraig Sheila a fu farw ym mis Rhagfyr 2019. Bu'r Parch Bob yn gweithio yn yr ardal fel offeiriad am flynyddoedd lawer ac fe elwon ni i gyd o'i weinidogaeth. Mae colled fawr ar eu hôl.
Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn o newid, rydym wedi bod yn parhau â'n cynllunio i adnewyddu ein Hardal Weinidogaeth a pharatoi ein plwyfolion i ddod yn ddisgyblion gweithgar Crist a chymryd rhan yn ein cenhadaeth i ymdrechu fod yn gariad Duw â phawb o'n cwmpas a gwahodd pawb i fod yn rhan, yn llawen, o deulu Duw.

CHAIRPERSONS REPORT
2020 has been a challenging time for all of us; trying to work within ongoing restrictions and periods of lockdown have brought their challenges but also has given us time to reflect on the direction of ministry in Bro Ardudwy and re-imagining our aims and objectives in light of an uncertain future. As one of those in the category of clinically vulnerable who was shielding during this time, the work of providing spiritual and pastoral support was difficult but with the help of a dedicated team, we were able to continue to be a source of strength and hope to our parishioners. This report for 2020 gives an overview for the past year and shows how we have grasped opportunities and faced challenges in order to use our resources to promote of the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical, in the parish. I owe a debt of thanks to all those who support the parish of Bro Ardudwy who through their hard work and dedication have helped spread the Gospel message of Christ’s love for all.
This year, we joyously celebrated the ordination of Pam Odam to the distinctive diaconate by Bishop Andrew John at St John’s Church, Barmouth. Deacon Pam’s hard work as a reader for many years has been a great asset and blessing to Bro Ardudwy and we were delighted to be able to work with Pam in her new ministerial role.
This year we also said goodbye to the Reverend Brian Evans who has stepped down after many years of faithful service as priest in the Ministry Area. Rev. Brian and his wife, Llinos, will continue to remain with us as members of our congregation. We are grateful to Rev. Brian for his great contribution to Bro Ardudwy and in particular to the community at Llanaber.
It is with great sadness that we lost both Reverend Robert Hughes and his wife Sheila who passed away in December 2019. Rev. Bob worked in the area as a priest for many years and we all benefited from his ministry. They will both be sadly missed.
During this time of change, we have been continuing our planning to renew our Ministry Area and equip our parishioners to become active disciples of Christ and engage in our mission to strive to be God’s love with all around us and invite everyone to belong, joyfully, in God’s family.

The Parish of Bro Ardudwy (Registered Charity 1146546) is a Ministry Area of the Church in Wales situated in the Synod Area of North Meirionydd within the Diocese of Bangor. The geographical area of Bro Ardudwy begins in the North at Llandecwyn and ends in the South at Bontddu. Mae'r Eglwys yng Nghymru yn cael ei llywodraethu gan ei Chyfansoddiad, a sefydlwyd o dan adran 13 (1) o Ddeddfau Eglwys Gymreig 1914, fel y'i diwygir o bryd i'w gilydd gan ei Chorff Llywodraethol. Oherwydd newidiadau sefydliadol sydd ar y gweill ar hyn o bryd yn yr Eglwys yng Nghymru, mae gan y CAW yr un pwerau â Chyngor Plwyf Eglwys (CEP) a'r prif wahaniaeth yw maint a chwmpas CAW yn llawer mwy na CPE traddodiadol. Nid yw'r CAW yn gorff corfforaethol. Mae ei gyfansoddiad, ei weithdrefnau a'i bwerau yn cael eu rheoli gan y Cyfansoddiad, sy'n darparu bod yn rhaid i bob aelod, cyn cymryd ei swydd, lofnodi datganiad y bydd ef neu hi yn rhwym i'r Cyfansoddiad.

AMCANION A GWEITHGAREDDAU
Mae'r Eglwys yng Nghymru yn Dalaith o fewn y Cymun Anglicanaidd ac mae'n ceisio hyrwyddo'r grefydd Gristnogol trwy genhadaeth fyd-eang. Amcanion Cyngor Ardal Weinidogaeth (CAW) yw sicrhau bod bywyd a gwaith yr Eglwys ym Mhlwyf Bro Ardudwy yn helpu i gyflawni'r genhadaeth honno, yn lleol ac yn ehangach.
Mae'r CAW yn ymwybodol o ganllawiau'r Comisiwn Elusennau ar fudd cyhoeddus yn “Hyrwyddo Crefydd er Budd y Cyhoedd” ac mae ganddo sylw iddo wrth weinyddu Plwyf Bro Ardudwy. Cred y CAW, trwy gyflawni ei gyfrifoldeb i weithio ar y cyd â'r periglor yn y Plwyf a chydweithredu ym mhob mater sy'n peri pryder a phwysigrwydd i hyrwyddo cenhadaeth gyfan yr Eglwys, yn fugeiliol, efengylaidd, cymdeithasol ac eciwmenaidd, mae'n darparu budd i'r cyhoedd trwy:

darparu adnoddau a chyfleusterau ar gyfer addoli cyhoeddus, gofal bugeiliol a datblygiad ysbrydol, moesol a deallusol, i'w haelodau ac i unrhyw un sy'n dymuno elwa o'r hyn y mae'r Eglwys yn ei gynnig;

hyrwyddo gwerthoedd Cristnogol, a gwasanaeth gan aelodau'r Eglwysi ym Mhlwyf Bro Ardudwy i'w cymunedau, er budd unigolion a'r gymdeithas gyfan.
Mae'r CAW yn gyfrifol, ymhlith pethau eraill, am y gyllideb blwyfol a'r holl wariant oddi tani, gofalu a chynnal adeiladwaith yr Eglwys a'r Mynwentydd y mae'n berchen arnynt, ac am unrhyw gamau neu fater arall a gyfeirir ato yn unol â'r Cyfansoddiad, a hefyd y sianel gyfathrebu arferol rhwng plwyfolion ac Esgob yr Esgobaeth.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Church in Wales is governed by its Constitution, set up under section 13(1) of the Welsh Church Acts 1914, as amended from time to time by its Governing Body. Due to organisational changes currently underway within the Church in Wales the MAC has the same powers as a Parochial Church Council (PCC) with the main difference being the size and coverage of a MAC being much larger than a traditional PCC. The MAC is not a body corporate. Its composition, procedures and powers are regulated by the Constitution, which provides that before assuming office, every member must sign a declaration that he or she will be bound by the Constitution.
The Constitution also provides that the members of the MAC shall be: The Incumbent, Vicars and Assistant Curates; two Church Wardens, one appointed by the Incumbent and one elected at the Annual Vestry Meeting (AVM); up to 25 lay members elected at the AVM, 1 co-opted Secretary and Treasurer (if not already ex-officio or elected); and up to 7 further co-opted members.
The elected MAC members are elected at the Annual Vestry Meeting by the members of the congregation who are on the electoral roll of the Parish. All persons over the age of 18 who attend services and are members of the congregation are encouraged to register on the electoral roll and seek election to the MAC.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The Church in Wales is a Province within the Anglican Communion and seeks to advance the Christian religion through world-wide mission. The Ministry Area Council’s (MAC) objectives are to ensure that Church life and work within the Parish of Bro Ardudwy help to fulfil that mission, both locally and more widely.
The MAC is aware of the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit in “The Advancement of Religion for the Public Benefit” and have regard to it in their administration of the Parish of Bro Ardudwy. The MAC believes that, by fulfilling its responsibility to work together with the incumbent in the Parish and co-operate in all matters of concern and importance for the promotion of the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical, it provides a benefit to the public by:

providing resources and facilities for public worship, pastoral care and spiritual, moral and intellectual development, both for its members and for anyone who wishes to benefit from what the Church offers;

promoting Christian values, and service by members of the Churches in the Parish of Bro Ardudwy to their communities, to the benefit of individuals and society as a whole.
The MAC is responsible, inter alia, for the parochial budget and all expenditure thereunder, the care and maintenance of Church fabric and of the Churchyards it owns, and for any action or other matter referred to it in accordance with the Constitution, and is the normal channel of communication between parishioners and the Diocesan Bishop.

Cyfarfu Cyngor Ardal Weinidogaeth bedair gwaith yn ystod 2020 Mae trosolwg o weithgareddau'r MAC wedi'i gynnwys yn yr is-adrannau canlynol.
Mae Plwyf Bro Ardudwy yn elusen gofrestredig sydd â'r nod o HYRWYDDO HOLL GENHADAETH YR EGLWYS, BUGEILIOL, EFENGYLAIDD, CYMDEITHASOL AC ECWMENAIDD, YN Y PLWYF. Rydym yn gweithio o fewn ein Gweledigaeth Esgobaethol o Addoli Duw, Tyfu'r Eglwys a Caru'r Byd i'n cynorthwyo i lywio ein hymddygiad a mesur ein perfformiad yn erbyn yr uchod.
HYRWYDDO CENHADAETH GYFAN YR EGLWYS
Er i 2020 ddechrau gyda dos iach o frwdfrydedd ar gyfer y flwyddyn i ddod, mae'n deg dweud bod y flwyddyn wedi bod yn heriol mewn nifer o feysydd.
Roedd newidiadau a gychwynnwyd gan bandemig COVID-19 yn ei hanfod yn atal yr holl ffyrdd traddodiadol yr ymgysylltodd yr Ardal y Weinidogaeth â'i chynulleidfaoedd a'i chymunedau. Yn ystod y cyfnodau clo tynnaf, parhawyd addoliad ar-lein, darlledwyd o'r Ficerdy a phan gafodd y cyfyngiadau cyfnod clo eu llacio cynhaliwyd addoliad yn ein hadeiladau eglwysig mwy yn Harlech ac Abermaw i sicrhau bod y rheoliadau cadw pellter cymdeithasol yn cael eu cadw. Cafodd y gwasanaethau hyn naill ai eu ffrydio'n fyw neu eu lanlwytho'n ddiweddarach ar lwyfannau Facebook neu Zoom. Roedd gwasanaethau'n cael eu cynnal yn Gymraeg ac yn Saesneg a defnyddiwyd iaith arwyddion drwy’r amser.
Mae gwasanaethau digwyddiadau bywyd wedi digwydd mewn nifer cyfyngedig iawn o'r eglwysi yn y Fro. Cynhaliwyd priodasau yn Llandanwg a Llanbedr yn y ffenestri byr iawn rhwng y cyfnodau clo ac mae ychydig o angladdau wedi'u cynnal yn yr Ardal Weinidogaeth ond fe'u cynhaliwyd yn y mynwentydd neu yn yr amlosgfeydd. Ni ddefnyddiwyd yr eglwysi.
BUGEILIOL
Nid yw gwaith bugeiliol traddodiadol wedi gallu cael ei wneud yn ystod 2020 ond mae addasu wedi bod yn allweddol i 2020. Mae cyfarfodydd ar-lein fel sesiynau cynghori a grwpiau gweddi wedi bod yn cael eu cynnal er mwyn cadw mewn cysylltiad â phlwyfolion ac mae galwadau ffôn wedi'u gwneud yn rheolaidd i wirio o bryd i'w gilydd gyda'r rhai sydd wedi'u hynysu yn ystod y cyfnod hwn. Anfonwyd cardiau yn rheolaidd ac adeg y Nadolig a gwerthfawrogwyd yr ymdrech yn fawr.
EFENGYLYDDOL
Fel gyda phob agwedd ar weithgareddau'r Eglwys wyneb yn wyneb yn 2020, roedd yr amrywiaeth o arferion traddodiadol wedi'u hatal. Mae rhai cynulleidfaoedd wedi ymateb i'r her o agor eu hadeiladau ar gyfer gweddi breifat yn dibynnu ar statws y cyfnodau clo ac rydym yn hynod o ddiolchgar iddynt nid yn unig am staffio'r adeiladau ond hefyd am gynnal Asesiadau Risg, glanhau a diheintio a hefyd yn rhoi croeso i'r rhai yn ein cymunedau sydd wedi ymweld â nhw am weddi breifat.
Mae'r newid i ddefnyddio llwyfannau ar-lein ar gyfer gwasanaethau hefyd wedi galluogi gwaith allanol pellach o fewn yr Ardal Weinidogaeth a thu hwnt. Darparwyd gwasanaeth i'r Byddar a'r Trwm eu Clyw drwy ddarparu gwasanaethau wedi'u arwyddo a chefnogaeth ysbrydol. Mae'r

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The Ministry Area Council met four times during the course of 2020. An overview of the activities of the MAC is included in the following sub-sections.
The Parish of Bro Ardudwy is a registered charity whose aims are THE PROMOTION OF THE WHOLE MISSION OF THE CHURCH, PASTORAL, EVANGELISTIC, SOCIAL AND ECUMENICAL, IN THE PARISH.
We work within our Diocesan Vision of Worshipping God, Growing the Church and Loving the World to assist us to inform our behaviour and measure our performance against the above.
THE PROMOTION OF THE WHOLE MISSION OF THE CHURCH
Whilst 2020 began with a healthy dose of enthusiasm for the coming year, it is fair to say that the year has been challenging on a number of fronts.
Changes instigated by the COVID-19 pandemic essentially halted all of the traditional ways that the Ministry Area engaged with its congregations and communities. Never the less, online solutions to some of these issues has managed to provide a bridge to allow worship at home through Facebook and Zoom.
During the tightest periods of lockdown worship continued online, broadcast from the Ficerdy and when lockdown’s were eased worship was held at our larger church buildings in Harlech and Barmouth to ensure adherence to Social Distancing regulations were maintained. These services were either live-streamed or uploaded later onto the Facebook or Zoom platforms. Services were held in both Welsh and English and sign language was used throughout.
Life event services have taken place in a very limited number of the churches in the Bro. Weddings were held in Llandanwg and Llanbedr in the very brief windows between lockdowns and a few funerals have taken place in within the Ministry Area but were conducted in the graveyards or at the crematoriums. The churches were not used.
PASTORAL
Traditional pastoral work has been unable to be carried out during 2020 but adaption has been the key to 2020. Online meetings such as counselling sessions and prayer groups have been taking place in order to keep in touch with parishioners and phone calls have been made regularly to check in from time to time with those who are isolated during this time. Cards were sent regularly and at Christmas and the effort was much appreciated.
EVANGELISTIC
As with all aspects of face-to-face Church activities in 2020, the variety of traditional practices had been suspended. Some congregations have risen to the challenge of opening their buildings for private prayer depending on the status of the lockdowns and we are immensely grateful to them for not only staffing the buildings but also undertaking Risk Assessments, cleaning and sanitising and also providing a welcome to those in our communities who have visited them for private prayer.
The switch to using online platforms for services has also enabled further outreach within the Ministry Area and beyond. A service was provided to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing through the provision of signed services and spiritual support. The continuing provision of the bilingual weekly Bywyd Bro parish magazine and a weekly service booklet either through email or by post has been

CYMDEITHASOL
Er bod nifer fawr o weithgareddau cymdeithasol wedi'u cynllunio neu ar y gweill, bu'n rhaid gohirio pob un ohonynt ar gyfer 2020. Fodd bynnag, mae nifer o ddigwyddiadau cymdeithasol ar-lein wedi cael eu cynnal yn llwyddiannus dros Zoom fel nosweithiau cwis a boreau coffi ac unwaith eto maent wedi darparu lefel ddefnyddiol o estyn braich i aelodau o'n cymunedau a allai fel arall fod yn eithaf ynysig.
ECIWMENAIDD
Yn anffodus, mae gweithgareddau ecwmenaidd wedi bod yn eithaf prin ar gyfer 2020. Mae rhai aelodau o enwadau eraill wedi ymuno â'n gwasanaethau naill ai ar-lein neu'n bersonol yn dibynnu ar sefyllfa'r cyfnodau clo oherwydd bod yr Ardal Weinidogaeth yn ffodus o gael adeiladau sy'n ddigon mawr i ganiatáu cadw at fesurau Ymbellhau Cymdeithasol.

most welcomed by those who receive it and has provided another mechanism for keeping in touch with those who are isolated during the lockdowns.
SOCIAL
Whilst a great number of social activities had been planned or were in the process of being drawn up, all of them have had to be put on hold for 2020. Several online social events have however been run successfully over Zoom such as quiz nights and coffee mornings and have again provided a useful level of outreach to members of our communities who might otherwise be quite isolated.
ECUMENICAL
Ecumenical activities have unfortunately been quite few and far between for 2020. Some members of other denominations have joined in with our services either online or in person depending on the lockdown situation due to the Ministry Area being fortunate in having buildings that are large enough to allow for Social Distancing measures to be adhered to.

Mae'n debyg ei bod hi'n deg i ddweud nad yw 2020 wedi gweithio allan yn y ffordd roedd unrhyw un yn ei ddisgwyl!
O ystyried y gwaith sydd wedi'i wneud dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf yn amrywio o symleiddio cyfrifon banc a buddsoddiadau ynghyd â chydgrynhoi strwythur y gronfa ac yn bwysicaf oll newid rhoddion i gynllun Rhoddion Uniongyrchol Eglwys yng Nghymru, gallai eleni fod wedi bod yn llawer gwaeth yn ariannol.
Mae heriau'n parhau o safbwynt materion ariannol ac mae 2020 wedi chwyddo'r rhain. Er bod Cyngor yr Ardal Weinidogaeth wedi parhau i reoli ei gyllid yn gyfrifol, gan gynnwys darparu Cronfa Wrth Gefn Gweithredol mae'r heriau o gynnal y statws quo yn broblemus gyda llai o adnodd cyllidebol a'r angen yn y blynyddoedd nesaf i fuddsoddi'n helaeth yn ein hadeiladau.
Yn yr un modd â'r mwyafrif o sefydliadau eraill yn yr ardal, mae'r cloeon lawr wedi bod yn eithaf creulon i'n ffrydiau incwm, ond mae'n rhaid i ni hefyd fod yn ddiolchgar i Esgobaeth Bangor a Chorff Cynrychioliadol yr Eglwys yng Nghymru am ddarparu gostyngiad ar gost Cronfa Weinidogaeth yr Esgob ar gyfer 2020.
Dylid nodi hefyd bod Ymddiriedolwyr CAW yn ddiolchgar iawn am y gefnogaeth ariannol a gwirfoddol barhaus y mae'n ei chael i'r eglwysi gan roddwyr hael iawn, busnesau a sefydliadau lleol ac wrth gwrs i bererinion ac ymwelwyr.

Treasurer’s Report
It is probably fair to say that 2020 hasn’t worked out in the way anyone was expecting!
Given the work that has been undertaken over the last few years ranging from streamlining bank and investment accounts along with consolidating the fund structure and most importantly switching donations to the Church in Wales Gift Direct scheme, this year could have been a lot worse financially.
Challenges continue to remain from a financial standpoint and 2020 has amplified these. Whilst the Ministry Area Council has continued to manage its finances responsibly, including the provision of an Operational Reserve but the challenges of maintaining the status-quo is problematic with further reduced funds and the potential need in the next few years to invest heavily in our buildings.
As with most other organisations within the locality, the lockdowns have been quite brutal to our income streams, but we must also be grateful to Bangor Diocese and the Representative Body of the Church in Wales for providing a discount on our Bishop’s Ministry Fund cost for 2020.
It should also be noted that the MAC Trustees are very grateful for the continued financial and volunteer support it receives to the churches from both very generous donors, local businesses and organisations and of course to pilgrims and visitors.

To the Trustees of The Ministry Area Council of the Parish of Bro Ardudwy
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Bro Ardudwy Ministry Area charity for the year ended 31[st] December 2020.
Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The Ministry Area Council members of the Parish of Bro Ardudwy (henceforth referred to as the MAC) as trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the charities accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Charities Act;
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Charities Act); and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
