This program ts divided into two interventions - the tmarika ￿jana (IK - Strong Youth) Pnyam and the Village

OE che1,460 rural based youth rhar graduated from Lyra's IK traintng at least 6(Yh have started a newbusiness, mainly
in merchan(knsing. a8riculrure, tailoring and Foultry with more than 5(Yh more thand0ubEll￿ thcAr income
AS a resuli OE the IK rraining. 31 Youth Saiqngs and L(Ans ASS(￿latiOnS (YSLAS) were establishtl with a total of 540
rnembers (6Wo ftm2Le ana 5% disabled). At the end of the FY. total Saw greu, from TZS 9.9million (£3.225) to TZS
38M]￿"on {£12.260) with 8(vh loaned out to memEtrs. Retum on Savillgs st￿1 ar 11.gh. whde average annualized
saving peT member was TZS ￿2,711 (£50). This is an achievemenr Eor rhe youth who until now have lived below the
verry Iine. All YSLAS are regstered with their[es￿Ctt.ve Dismct Councils andthree hAve been granted interest free

Government interesr free loans to support thetr busincsses.
