Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The club during the second year of the pandemic had several changes to the structure of the club including a new secretary. The closure by the government also gave the club ample time to start a complete modernisation of the clubhouse and also to carry out works to the ground. Drainage works were carried out on the ground with the goals reset on the 2 main pitches. We also have installed a cricket pitch and this was used during the summer with cricket being played at the club for the 1[st] time in over 10 years. Repairs were made to strengthen the floor throughout the clubhouse and the changing rooms with a new floor laid and the main hall and toilets redecorated. The bar was also redecorated and the remaining single glazed windows changed to double glazing.
We also cladded the final uncovered part of the club to finish the exterior and improve the look of the club. Overall the club is now in much better condition and is appealing to both members and users of the club.
We are now trying to attract new teams to play as Debden Sports and try and establish the club back into the football pyramid. The club has also partnered with Five and Heronians Cricket club and they use the facilities to play cricket.
